DESCRIPTION:OCO Club & Tanaka Farms present the 2024 Walk the Farm event! Harvesting hope for farmers suffering from the devastation of natural disasters.\nWe do hope that you will join us on an enjoyable one-mile walk around a real working farm for young and old alike. This year you will not only sample fresh fruits and vegetables but you will also be able to go directly into the fields and harvest your own, right off of the vine.\nThis year we are sending lots of aloha to our friends in Maui who are still recovering from devastating winds and fire from last August. Know that we helped rebuild the greenhouses at Maui Grown Tomatoes so that they can get back to feeding their community. We will also be supporting the Maui Food Bank’s fresh-4-all program where they purchase fresh produce from local farmers and distribute to those in need. They will be opening a new distribution hub specifically for the Lahaina residents. Your efforts will go to help both the local farmers of Maui and the residents of Lahaina that lost so much.\nWe will also have educational signage, entertaining performances, friendly volunteers, and children’s crafts available along the way. We are also featuring the “Issei and Nisei Farmers: Their Legacy'” a collection of farm family memories of stories and photographs.\nMore info can be found at www.walkthefarm.org.\n
