DESCRIPTION:The Torrance Historical Society will hold its annual Names on the Wall Remembrance on Memorial Day, honoring the 152 Torrance service members who lost their lives in U.S. military actions from World War I through the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The outdoor ceremony takes place at the Memorial Plaza in downtown Torrance and includes a reading of all 152 names, live bagpipe and bugle performances, and a tribute to the ongoing research effort that continues to put a face to each name on the wall. This year’s ceremony also follows the April 2026 addition of Jack Hormell’s name to the Veterans Memorial Wall, bringing the total to 152.
