DESCRIPTION:Lomita Founders Day is back for 2026, taking over Narbonne Avenue in downtown Lomita for a full weekend of live music, carnival rides, food trucks, community performances, and fireworks. The annual celebration is one of the South Bay’s most beloved neighborhood festivals, drawing families from Lomita and surrounding communities for two days of entertainment.\nThis year the event runs Saturday, June 27 from 10 AM to 9 PM and Sunday, June 28 from 11 AM to 6 PM, with a fireworks show closing out Saturday night (weather permitting). A special highlight this year: on Saturday at 11:30 AM, the city will host a 50-year Lomita Time Capsule unveiling ceremony at City Hall.\nFrom carnival rides for all ages to a full lineup of live bands and a wide range of food trucks, Founders Day is one of the best free things to do in the South Bay this last weekend of June.\nCarnival rides are provided by James Event Productions and include adult rides (Ferris Wheel, Giant Slide, Wizzer, Orbitron) and kids rides (Swing Chair, Traffic Circle, Kids Carousel, Large Pirate Swing, Trackless Train). Game booths are free for all participants courtesy of Something New.\nRide wristbands:\n\nPre-sale (through June 26) $25 for both days.\nSaturday single-day $20 from 10 AM to 5 PM, then $10 fireworks special after 5 PM.\nSunday single-day $10; games-only $5.\n\nLive music Saturday:\n\nPop Vision 12:30 to 2:30 PM\nTres Hombres 3:30 to 5:30 PM\nPistol Blondes 7:00 to 8:45 PM.\n\nLive music Sunday:\n\nThe Jokers 1:00 to 3:00 PM\nFlock of 80s 4:00 to 6:00 PM.\n\nFood trucks include Makani is Ready (hibachi), The Tropic Truck (burgers), Lupita’s Tacos (Mexican), Messi Burger, and Wing Me Up (wings, mac and cheese, fries). Sweets from Wetzside Pretzels, Kona Ice, Cathy’s Cookies, and Gloria’s Ice Cream Truck.\nParking is limited at Lomita Railroad Museum, Lomita Park, and Lomita City Hall. Walking, biking, and rideshare are strongly encouraged. Note: Narbonne Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Lomita Boulevard and 242nd Street beginning Friday, June 26 at 2:00 PM. Lomita Park is closed Saturday, June 27, but Belba Field opens one hour before fireworks as an additional viewing area.\nFireworks viewers can follow along with the soundtrack via the Cinewav app using the QR code on the official event flyer.\n
