Chinatown Moon Festival
The first Moon Festival dates back to 1938 in Los Angeles Chinatown. The 1941 festival drew a crowd over 30,000 people to raise funds for United China Relief, an agency that sent supplies to Chinese refugees during World War II.
Come celebrate with us on September 17th, from 5pm to 10pm and continue this Chinatown tradition. There will be Moon Festival rituals, cultural performances, moon cake demonstration and tastings, telescope viewing of the moon and planets, and more. We are also bringing back the Children’s Parade this year that will start at 7:30pm.
This event is free for all ages!
