Lariats at the 2022 Westchester July 4 Parade
EXCITING NEWS, the Westchester Lariats have been selected to participate in the upcoming Westchester 4th of July parade! This annual Westchester tradition will take place at 11 AM on July 4th on Loyola Blvd. between Manchester and 80th Street. The Lariats will meet early to line up and coordinate costumes (time to be confirmed later).
Following this year’s theme, “Yours for a Better Community: Celebrating the Best of America,” the Lariats will walk the route (and maybe throw in a few dance moves) wearing costumes representing our era and western dances.
We hope to have a big group of current Lariats, former Lariats, and friends and family (ANYONE is welcome to join us as a parade participant, bring friends!). Please RSVP on or before June 4th with the number of walkers and whether or not you already have a costume (either already on loan from the Lariats or your own). Costume descriptions are:
1920s: flapper dress or suit/hat
1940s: shim sham dress or suit/hat
1950’s: poodle shirt and tied button down shirt (hair in ponytail) or rolled jeans and white t-shirt
Western: cowboy boots, jean shorts, white t-shirt, bandana
The Lariats will provide costumes as needed (Lariats will select the type of costume based on size and availability).
