The inaugural Parade of the Tournament of Roses attracted 3,000 people and included horse-drawn carriages decorated with orange blossoms. The parade floats are a wonder of modern technology today, hidden behind flowers and other natural materials, more than a century after they were first used. The 5 1/2 mile path along Colorado Boulevard features energetic marching bands, high-stepping horse troops, and beautiful flower floats every New Year. On January 2, 2023, the Rose Parade presented by Honda gets underway at 8 AM.

In Pasadena, California, the 5 1/2-mile Rose Parade route starts at the intersection of Green Street and Orange Grove Boulevard. The majority of the parade viewing area is on Colorado Blvd., where the march turns east after traveling north on Orange Grove at a leisurely 2 1/2 miles per hour. The march concludes at Villa Street after turning northward into Sierra Madre Boulevard close to the conclusion of the route.

Reserved parking for automobiles, buses and recreational vehicles is available for purchase:
Sharp Seating Company (626) 795-4171
Colorado Blvd. Parking (858) 692-0868 or (949) 295-6537

LAZ Parking (626) 578-1705
Easy Parking Service (626) 286-7576 and

In addition, a number of lots and parking garages close to the parade route provide paid parking on a first-come, first-served basis. The day before the parade, at noon, overnight parking is permitted on Pasadena streets, but just for that particular evening. All “No Parking” zones and red curb zones continue to be off-limits, and violating cars will be impounded and fined. Parking is not permitted along the procession route. Vehicles that are parked improperly will be seized.
