Village Runner Independence Day 5K Run & Firecracker Dash
Celebrate Independence Day with a scenic run along the Pacific Ocean and enjoy our 29th Annual Village Runner 5K and Firecracker Dash on Sunday, July 3rd, 2022 at 8:00am! All participants will receive an Independence Day run t-shirt. There will be chip timing, age division awards, and cash prizes to the top three overall male and female runners in the 5K run. All kids dash finishers receive medals too!

Packet Pickup and Late Registration:
Saturday, July 2nd: Noon to 6pm at the Village Runner in Redondo Beach
Sunday (race morning), July 3rd: 6:30am on Catalina Ave. near Palos Verdes Blvd.
Please note our newer location in the Riviera Village located just doors away from Trader Joe’s.

The 5K Run/Walk begins at 8:00am
The Firecracker Dash for the Gold heats are separated by age groups and start approximately at the times listed below.
9:30am Ages 8-9, Distance: 1/4 Mile
9:40am Ages 6-7, Distance: 1/4 Mile
9:45am Ages 4-5, Distance: “Dash”

Costume Contest:
We will be having a Costume Contest at the stage in the Coffee Cartel parking lot from 7:15 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Please enter with your patriotic best for a chance to win the following prizes:
1st Place – $100 gift certificate to the Village Runner
2nd Place – $75 gift certificate to the Village Runner
3rd Place – $50 gift certificate to the Village Runner
Benefits:
Celebrate and give back to our local students. The Village Runner Independence Day 5K directly benefits the Redondo Beach Educational Foundation and other local schools and running programs. A portion of YOUR registration fee from this race goes to these deserving groups each year.
