VOLUNTEER EVENT: Beach Dune Restoration

Come volunteer with The Bay Foundation to help restore native dune habitat as a part of the Manhattan Beach Dune Restoration project. Participants will learn about dune ecology and contribute to restoration by removing non-native plants and watering native plants. This project will evaluate a living restored shoreline with a diverse plant and wildlife community as an approach to increase coastal resiliency.

The City is seeking volunteers for our next community event. Join us on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Manhattan Beach, near Rosecrans Lifeguard Tower at 3621 The Strand, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266. The CA State Coastal Conservancy is fully-funding the Manhattan Dune Restoration project through the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund and California Climate Investments, which are programs that put cap and trade dollars to work.

Parking lot entrance is near 45th Street, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266. Proceed south in parking lot, park as close to Rosecrans Avenue as possible (south end of lot). Additional parking is available at Lot 4. Check in will be held near Rosecrans Lifeguard Tower. Limited to 50 participants. What you’ll bring: water, sunscreen, closed toe shoes
Provided: Tools, Gloves will be provided for those who are unable to bring their own
