There’s a new product on the market and it is Ah-mazing, it’s called Gerber BabyNes Nutrition System! BabyNes makes making a perfect bottle as easy as pressing a button! And in the middle of the night, when you are half asleep, this magical machine is so wonderful! Not only are these easy to make bottles, but Gerber came up with a very calculated way to get baby exactly what they need, when they need it and formulated the formula as close as possible to breastmilk. But wait, there’s more, just keep reading.
This is a sponsored post. We received product so we could write this review, but we only partner with companies we love.
Breastfeeding doesn’t always work for everyone for many different reasons. We weren’t able to breastfeed with our daughter for a few reasons, so we went the formula route. Since we were already using Gerber formula, this felt like a natural transition and it makes me feel good knowing my baby is getting everything she needs. There are 5 formula stages, each slightly different to mirror the stages that breastmilk changes and based on the child’s age.
Each stage comes in a box filled with capsules. Yes, capsules! Each capsule has a little barcode on it, so it tells the machine how many ounces to make. To make a bottle, you just make sure there is enough water in the reserve (it will tell you if there isn’t,) place the capsule in the machine, select the preferred temperature, and press the button. In a matter of seconds, you will have a perfectly made bottle at the perfect temperature. No measuring formula, no shaking up bottles, or worrying about getting them to the perfect temperature. It’s great and so easy!
But I still had some questions. At Gerber, they have nutritionists available 24/7, for FREE. So I jumped on a call with one of their nutritionists and asked some more questions.
My baby is not needing all the ounces that BabyNes makes, can I adjust that? Although you can’t change the amount of ounces made, there are workarounds. For example, we were doing 4 ounce bottles, but the stage we were at made 5 ounce bottles. What we did was poured the 1 ounce into another container and put it in the refrigerator for later. Once formula is made, if refrigerated it should be used within 24 hours. And sometimes baby just needed a little extra formula, so this was perfect.
What happens if I’m not at home a need to make a bottle? In your package with your machine, you will get an “on-the-go capsule opener.” Awesome, just throw a few capsules in your bag, pack a few bottles with the measured out water and you are good to go!
What if I’m away from the house and don’t have a pod? The Gerber formula is very similar to the BabyNes formula and can be found almost anywhere. So in a pinch, you can grab some Gerber formula from the store and make a bottle on the go.
Let’s talk capsules! What are they made of? Are they safe? BabyNes capsules are made of polypropylene which is globally accepted and recognized as safe for food packaging. They are also BPA free, so that made me feel great about the safety, but there was one more big question to ask…
That’s a lot of capsules you go through! Are they recyclable? BabyNes offers a collection service of used capsules, they are incinerated to generate energy from waste. Just request capsule collection labels and they will be shipped to you.
Lastly, since I am a tech loving mom, I love that the machine connects to your phone via wi-fi! Just download the app, follow the instructions and your connected! The app will track everytime you make a bottle and allow you to easily purchase formula, as well as many other things. If you are using this machine to supplement breastfeeding, you can also track your breastfeeding too in the app.
All in all we love this machine. I love a quality product that helps make life simpler. The capsules vary in price, depending on the stage. They will be priced a little higher than regular Gerber formula, but you are paying for a very special formula and the convenience of the capsule system. Currently, you can get capsules from Gerber directly or Amazon.
