Tammies Muffins

LA baked goods. Available for local delivery and at farmers markets. With the knowledge she learned over the years working as a pastry chef, Tammie created her world famous muffins in a little kitchen at her home in Redondo Beach.

After such great reviews from family and friends she began selling her muffins and many other pastries to coffee shops and restaurants all over the South Bay. Working in a friends small restaurant kitchen, Tammie awoke each morning and began baking there before the restaurant opened, then spent the day running all over delivering her goodies. With time, Tammie grew wonderful relationships with her customers. One in particular was the two elderly brothers who owned Jitters Coffee Bar in Torrance. After the passing of one of the brothers, one brother felt it was too much and offered the 800 square foot store to Tammie. She gladly accepted and opened up her doors keeping the Jitters name. After a few years of success and word about her great muffins and pastries, Tammie decided to create a breakfast menu with a few omelets and crepes. The South Bay loved it!

Best Pies in the South Bay – Hermosa Beach

Hermosa Pie and Cake

Here at Hermosa Pie, we use only the freshest, all natural pacific northwest fruit. We do not buy fruit from countries outside of the US and parts of Canada, the dual purpose being an attempt to reduce the carbon emissions produced by the freighters and aircraft needed to transport that fruit to U.S. stores, whilst preserving migrant workers jobs and protecting the interests of local farmers. I opened the bakery in an effort to have quality of life. inadvertently, because I’m an outspoken hippie EARTH LOVER, I spend more and more of my time trying to steer people away from mass produced store bought Pie’s and Cakes which have been sprayed, gassed, injected, waxed, GMO’d or irradiated by large food corporations.

Hof’s Hut Restaurant & Bakery

Southern California family restaurant since 1951 cooks up popular breakfast, burgers & fresh pies.  HOF’S began with my father, Harold Hofman and his beach burger stand in the 1940’S. This was the “In” spot on the sand at 5th place in Long Beach.

Looking back over those early years, I attribute Hof’s success to 2 things: my father’s insistence on using only top quality ingredients to make the best breakfasts, burgers, chili, onion rings and fresh home-baked pies in the county and his unwavering focus on providing truly great service. Though we’ve grown a lot in the decades since, with Hof’s Hut restaurants now located throughout Southern California, my father’s founding philosophy still guides us today.

Rizzo’s Pizzeria

Our recipes originate from a collection of training passed on from our late owner, Sherrie Rossi. Originally from Port Huron, Michigan, Sherrie gathered experience and influence as she and her family moved across the country. Their years found them in Denver & different parts of California before setting roots in Southern California. Wherever they landed, family & good food remained the center of their foundation.

Opening in 1981, Rizzo’s has since been the tangible piece of all of her hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Today, her recipes and values hold true as the restaurant remains family-operated by her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Jongewaard’s Bake n Broil

The Bake n’ Broil is the epitome of comfort food: delicious recipes that evoke family warmth, generous hospitality and the smells and tastes of childhood. It’s the kind of food your mother, and her mother before that, used to make.

Of course we have meat and potatoes including pot roast, chicken fried steak and chicken pot pies that are “to die for”. No meal is complete without dessert and that may be why we are most well known for our pies, cakes and muffins.

We like to consider what we do as an home cooking that you come here to get. Our catch phrase has always been “simply good food” and that reminder appears above our entrance.

Polly’s Pies Restaurant & Bakery

Established in 1968,the first Polly’s was opened in Fullerton. The name Polly was chosen, in part, because the front doors of the restaurant had handles shaped like the letter “P,” and we wanted to use those handles. Eddie’s wife suggested the name “Polly’s” in honor of Polly Martin, who was the newborn daughter of the restaurant’s first manager.

Later we adopted the name Polly’s Tasty Foods and Pies, then Polly’s Bakery Cafe, and currently we are known as Polly’s Pies Restaurant. But our guests often just call us Polly’s or Polly’s Pies. We built a loyal clientele by serving outstanding pies, hamburgers and sandwiches and in doing so, you’ll find a special friendliness not found in other restaurants.
