It’s that time of the year again! Halloween is coming up and we’ve put together a list of our favorite Halloween Events for this spooky holiday. From pumpkin patches to haunted houses, there are tons of fun things to do in Southern California. Check out these ideas for your family this Halloween Season!
Celebrate Halloween in Los Angeles and Orange County
October 11-31, 2021
Carved is a family-friendly event that will take place in Descanso Gardens for three weeks. Thousands of carved pumpkins will line the 1 mile walk through Camellia Forest and Oak Grove. Along with pumpkins, there will be exciting new oversized sculptures made of sticks and other natural materials. Carved will set an “harvest festival” ambiance at the Descanso Gardens with pumpkin carving demonstrations, a hay maze, and food and drinks.
September 24 through October 31
Come explore 87 acres and find an array of haunted houses throughout — whether they are haunted birdhouses, doll houses or Garden areas turned ghostly. This is the perfect fall activity for Garden visitors of all ages! Can’t find them all? Grab a map at our visitors service window for a little extra help! Best of all, this activity is included with the price of Garden admission September 24 through October 31!
Discover the creatures lurking in the depths at the Aquarium of the Pacific’s twenty-second annual Scarium of the Pacific – a spooktacular educational Halloween event for the whole family.
Enjoy special Halloween programs, including the annual children’s costume contest, creepy coloring contest, magic shows, underwater pumpkin carving, spooky storytelling, kooky crafts, and eerie animals in the Great Hall.
Boo at the Los Angeles Zoo, October 1 through 31
The Halloween spirit is in full swing for 31 monstrous days this October, with special weekend entertainment and activities, including open-air live shows, special animal pumpkin feedings, themed photo ops, education stations, and much more. Costumes are encouraged! Daily fun through October 31, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. unless otherwise noted.

Enjoy the spooktacular Halloween season at Knott’s Spooky Farm, a family-friendly
Enjoy the spooktacular Halloween season at Knott”s Spooky Farm, an event full of Halloween activities for kids ages 3-11. Little ghouls can trick-or-treat through Ghost Town to collect sweet Halloween treats. Fun Halloween-themed shows are in store. Guests of all ages can learn about the creepy crawly critters occupying Ghost Town”s Livery Stable.
The Halloween Hootenanny returns as The Timber Mountain Log Ride transforms with spooky but family-friendly surprises. The fall daytime Seasons of Fun event is included with regular park admission or your Season Pass.

Irvine Park Railroad’s Pumpkin Patch in Orange County is fun for the entire family. Come out and enjoy the many activities for kids of all ages. The Pumpkin Patch is located just behind the train station and admission is FREE. Please note that a gate entrance fee will be charged by the County of Orange for each vehicle that enters Irvine Regional Park.

RECOMMENDED FOR CHILDREN UNDER 12 YEARS OLD. Must be accompanied by an Adult. Haunt of Halloween shifts to “kid fun mode” on Sat. and Sun. 2-5PM. The Not-So-Scary Haunted Maze is great fun and ideal for guests ages 6 – 12, but it really, really depends on the child. You know your kid better than anyone. Kids can dress up and trick-or-treat their way through the haunt just without the fright! No special effects, scare-o-meter off and theatrical lights on.

From spooky stories and a Halloween dance party to moments with furry friends like Count von Count, Elmo, Cookie Monster, and more, this is immersive family fun you’ll only find here.

Haunt’Oween LA, Woodland Hills, October 1 to October 31
Haunt’Oween LA is a family-friendly “Spooktacular” Halloween experience presented by Experiential Supply Co. The event returned to The Promenade at Westfield Topanga in Woodland Hills, but this time as an open-air walk-through adventure, instead of a drive-through!
The 165,000 sq. ft., monthlong Halloween wonderland will be taking place from 5-11pm (Oct. 1st. – Oct. 31st) at 6100 Topanga Canyon Blvd. in Woodland Hills, CA. Tickets are $30 and up and children under 2 years of age are free!
