Fantasia is defined as “a work (such as a poem or play) in which the one’s fancy roves unrestricted.” Since 1999, the mission of Fantasia Family Music, a non-profit arts organization is to train and educate youth through musical theater as a means of inspiring creativity and the elevation of the human spirit, as well as an understanding of teamwork and collaboration. Incorporating cultural and historical context into each project, we seek to create a lifelong appreciation for the theatre among students, parents and the community. Teaching artists are committed to imparting love of their art to the next generation and believe that each of us has a performance potential that should be developed to its fullest through music, dance, acting and public speaking.
We provide inventive, engaging and quality musical theatre education and productions for children of all ages, cultural backgrounds, skill and degrees of interest. We also create personalized and original programs for school day curriculum, after-school and community theatre for ages 0-15.
Musical theatre is our primary vehicle because it exposes students to music, dance and drama in one program. We also provide small group and private training in vocals, instrumental music and drama skills. We believe that music and theatre enhance education and life in innumerable ways, building confidence and preparing children for future success.
All paid staff are professionals working in their field of expertise in addition to instructing as teaching artists. All college interns are trained and experienced in performing arts. Every person who works for Fantasia Family Music is fully background checked, fingerprinted and cleared annually.
