Steve & Kate’s Camp Opening New Location for 2022

For over four decades, Steve & Kate’s Camp has provided a safe and engaging environment for kids to take charge of their own summer camp experiences. The opportunities for developing creativity and confidence are growing as they add a brand new location just in time for summer break 2022.

Steve & Kate’s Camp Torrance

This summer, families in the South Bay have even more exciting options when it comes to signing up for summer camp with the addition of the new Torrance location for Steve & Kate’s Camp. The new site at St. James Catholic School will welcome campers for summer 2022 from June 20 – August 19.

For the first time ever, South Bay families will also be able to sign up for a local spring break camp in Torrance. The Torrance Spring Camp runs from April 4 to April 8 at Jefferson Middle School for campers ages 4 – 12.

The Unique Experience of Steve & Kate’s Camp

Since 1980 Steve & Kate’s Camp has provided an extraordinary camp experience unlike any other. Kids are allowed to take charge of their day, fostering self-confidence. As kids try, fail, and learn independently, they learn to trust their own judgment and tackle the challenges of an ever-changing world with creativity and confidence.

Each day campers can join pod-like groups based on their individual interests. The interest groups include sewing, baking, building, performing arts, film, sports, and more. They can choose to focus on one of these or a blend of all activities throughout their day. Within each interest area, kids choose what types of projects and activities they want to do and for how long.

In addition to these offerings, campers will also be able to engage in weekly specials, like giant inflatables and climbing walls, as well as water play on hot days. And of course, it wouldn’t be Steve & Kate’s Camp without the traditional Friday Pie Day, pie-throwing.

Not only are the camp’s activities tailored to meet the needs of the kids, but how you sign up for camp is also flexible to meet each family’s needs. You can choose to sign up for the entire season with a Summer Pass or simply buy any number of Day Passes and use them when you prefer throughout the summer. Both types of passes include snacks, lunch, activities, and child care from 8am to 6pm. Day Passes can be transferred between siblings, and any unused Day Passes are automatically refunded in mid-September.
