Local Anchor Hosts Back to School Backpack Drive for El Nido Family Centers
School is just around the corner, and that means it’s time to start thinking about back to school supplies! Unfortunately buying new supplies can be tremendous burden for many families. Local Anchor is hosting a backpack drive to benefit El Nido Family Centers, one of Los Angeles’ most respected and effective social services nonprofit organizations.
Local Anchor Hosts Back to School Backpack Drive for El Nido Family Centers
Backpacks are one of the most important back to school supplies, but they can be expensive. By donating a backpack (or any other back to school supplies), you’ll help a child in need have a successful school year. Local Anchor is partnering with El Nido Family Centers to collect supplies for families in need and make donating fun and easy.
El Nido provides services to over 12,000 children and families each year, so your donation will make a big impact!
How to Donate Back to School Supplies
Making a donation is as easy as enjoying a night out with the family. Local Anchor will be onsite at the following community events collecting supplies. Just drop them off and we’ll make sure they get to El Nido so they can be distributed to children in need. Also, items can be purchased through Amazon!

The mission of El Nido is to empower families in low-income communities of Los Angeles County to break the cycle of poverty, child abuse, violence, academic failure, and teen pregnancy through outstanding educational, youth development, health, and therapeutic services. El Nido provides an array of services to help children and families in need, including parent education, child abuse prevention and treatment, student mentoring, gang prevention, youth development, mental health therapy, homelessness prevention, and more.
El Nido Family Centers is a social service, 501(C)3 non-profit agency. They provide counseling and family support services to underserved communities throughout Los Angeles County.
