Riviera Kids Club is a kids and teens club offering day camps, dance classes, birthday parties, Spanish classes and kids activities. RKC is the first of its kind in the South Bay and it aims to provide a safe space for children where they can have fun, feel empowered, and gain confidence.
With more than ten years of experience, director and founder Michelle Colón has developed camp, arts, and dance programs throughout the greater Los Angeles area and Puerto Rico. She is proud to finally serve the families in her chosen home, the South Bay.

Community Spotlight: Riviera Kids Club/ RKC Dance Academy
Tell us about Riviera Kids Club.
Riviera Kids Club is 1 years old! We held our first event, Parent’s Night Off in December 2022 and have since offered many Parent’s Night Off and camps. The dance studio side of RKC opened its doors September 2023. At RKC your kids thrive, play, dance and learn – all under one roof! We aim to provide a safe space for children where they can have fun, feel empowered and gain confidence.
What inspired you to launch Riviera Kids Club.
From a young age, I’ve had a passion for teaching dance and as my career evolved, I found myself working with children in various educational capacities, including dance, arts and crafts, science, cooking and even in preschool settings. This diverse experience reshaped my dream of owning a dance studio into a broader vision of creating a space where children can learn multiple disciplines, have fun and thrive. I thought this was just a dream, but after moving to the South Bay I discovered a profound sense of belonging, a true community where I felt embraced. Being a part of this incredible community gave me the spark I was missing to make my dream kids’ space a reality.
What is one of your proudest moments?
Witnessing our campers and dancers develop confidence and fearlessly embrace new experiences.
What can one expect when working with you/visiting your location?
When you join RKC, you become family. In our classes, events and camps your children will not only learn, but also build their confidence and feel empowered while having fun. We strive to provide a nurturing environment where kids can foster their creativity and imagination.
Tell us a little about you.
Miss Michelle is the founder and director of Riviera Kids Club. She has a BFA in Theatre and is a certified Acrobatic Arts Instructor. She has been teaching dance for almost 20 years. Miss Michelle began her journey working with children in high school as an assistant dance teacher. Later was promoted to lead teacher and began working summer camps in Puerto Rico. In 2008, she helped develop the D’Danze Arts Summer Camp Program and facilitated her expertise to Let’s Giggle Summer Camp. In 2016 she took a leap of faith and moved to Los Angeles, where she has taught dance in various dance studios and directed a camp for five years in the greater Los Angeles area.
Miss Michelle is a South Bay resident. When not teaching you can find her doing a new DIY, playing with her cats or exploring all the great small shops and restaurants South Bay has to offer.
