This local favorite started with a simple idea: making naturally leavened bread using simple ingredients. In 2017, after many failed attempts, owner Garrett McPerry created two wild sourdough starters, which he lovingly named Tommy and Atticus. Today, they are still known for their famous sourdough bread, which comes in various flavor profiles from rosemary garlic to cheddar jalapeno. And, of course, a classic country loaf. They also offer sourdough pizza, bagels, assorted pastries, and coffee drinks.

Adore Dessert Cafe
This French artisanal bakery features three generations of family recipes going back to 1932. The menu includes traditional French patisserie, sweet and savory bites, and even “Glace,” otherwise known as ice cream. The cafe also offers salads, sandwiches, quiches, and more, all of which can be enjoyed on their outdoor patio.

These French brothers are bakers and business owners passionate about fine bread. They decided to start an actual French artisan bakery right in the heart of the South Bay. After traveling to Paris to master the craft at the Ćcole de Boulangerie et de PĆ¢tisserie de Paris, they returned with the best flour they could obtain from the French fields. The Torrance Bakery’s doors were opened to the public on October 18, 1984, by the Rossberg family. They set out to provide the residents of South Bay with the freshest, most delectable cakes and pastries in town despite having just 1200 square feet of space and seven committed staff members. Over the years, the bakery has grown to become a South Bay resident favorite and has continued to expand. With 78 staff, two locations totaling 14,000 square feet, a separate showroom for wedding cakes, and a sandwich shop, Torrance Bakery now provides services throughout the South Bay.
