What is National Night Out?
National Night Out is an annual community building event that supports police and community partnerships. The event is typically held on the first Tuesday of August each year. The annual celebration aims to enhance the “relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.”
National Night Out Events in the South Bay
This year’s celebration, which takes place on August 4, features several events at parks and locations across the South Bay. Some events take place on alternate dates.
El Segundo National Night Out
Tuesday, August 4, 2026 | 5:00 PM ā 8:00 PM
Join the El Segundo Police Department and come out and meet your neighbors! Enjoy the fun of live music, bouncers, booths, and more. The event takes place along the 300-block of Main Street from 5pm to 8pm on August 4.
Torrance National Night Out
Tuesday, August 4, 2026 | 6:00 PM ā 8:00 PM
- District 1: 17600 Block Kornblum Ave (Block Party)
- District 2: Entradero Park, 5500 Towers St
- District 3: 18800 Block of Cranbrook Avenue (Block Party)

The Torrance celebration takes place across six different locations in each of Torrance’s six districts. You’ll enjoy free snacks and refreshments, family-friendly games, meet and greets with neighbors, City officials, and Torrance police members. The events will all be held on August 4 from 6pm to 8pm.
National Night Out in Manhattan Beach

Kinecta Federal Credit Union, 1440 Rosecrans Avenue, Manhattan Beach
The Manhattan Beach Police Department is hosting its annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4, bringing the community together for one citywide celebration this year at Kinecta Federal Credit Union. Bring the whole family for an evening of community connection and public safety awareness, featuring a K-9 demonstration, public safety booths with MBPD and community partners, Handel’s Ice Cream, tacos available for purchase, and plenty of chances to connect with the people who help keep Manhattan Beach safe.
MBPD and community partners are grateful for the important role they play in supporting South Bay families, and MBUSD families are encouraged to come out and connect with the people who help keep Manhattan Beach safe.
National Night Out in Rancho Palos Verdes

Hesse Park, 29301 Hawthorne Blvd, Rancho Palos Verdes
Join the City of Rancho Palos Verdes and local first responders for an afternoon of fun and community connection at National Night Out. This annual nationwide event promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to help make communities safer and more welcoming.
Families are invited to meet their local first responders, enjoy light refreshments, and participate in kid-friendly activities and giveaways.
Come together with neighbors to celebrate unity, safety, and community spirit.
After the kickoff party, RPV Neighborhood Watch groups will be hosting local block parties. Contact your Neighborhood Watch representative for more details.
Hawthorne National Night Out

Join in the fun at this free event for Hawthorne residents. Activities include: food, including Hot Dogs and Popcorn, Displays – Vehicle Tours, Children’s Area – Games, and a Free Raffle. The event takes place at City Hall from 5pm to 7pm on August 4.
Gardena National Night Out Summer Block Party
Tuesday, August 4, 2026 | 6:00 PM ā 8:00 PM
The highly-anticipated Summer Block Party is making its grand return to commemorate National Night Out! Join us for an unforgettable summer evening filled with excitement and community spirit. Get the chance to mingle with the dedicated Gardena Police officers, engage with friendly City staff members, and connect with your fellow residents for a night of fun and camaraderie. Gardena is also running its Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway that evening, which requires registration in advance, and one lucky attendee will win the grand prize: a NEX Playground System. The event takes place at the City Hall Complex, 1700 W. 162nd Street, from 6pm to 8pm on August 4.
Lawndale National Night Out

Join in a memorable National Night Out in Lawndale, where our community unites to celebrate togetherness and safety in a vibrant setting. Enjoy an evening filled with family-friendly activities, music, refreshments, community booths, and much more! The event takes place at the Lawndale Civic Center Plaza from 5pm to 7pm on August 4.

Come enjoy vendors, live music, food trucks, ice cream, meet our local Sheriffās Dept. and enjoy the beauty of vehicles from decades past. This event is sure to be a fun filled evening. This event takes place at Downtown Lomita, 24300 Narbonne Avenue from 6pm to 8pm on August 4.
