Tell us a little about you Storey
“I’m currently a freshman at Chadwick High School, and I am a young author who loves writing. I have amazing parents, a younger brother, 2 dogs, and 2 bunnies. I love hanging out with my friends, going to the beach, and eating at fun restaurants. In my free time, I also enjoy playing tennis and baking — especially cookies.”
What is the The Magical Arguing Cookies about?
The Magical Arguing Cookies is a children’s book about two cookies who can’t agree on anything. With the help of their magical friend, the book aims to celebrate differences and help children recognize that what we might perceive as flaws are actually unique traits that make each of us special.
What inspired you to write this book, The Magical Arguing Cookies?
“The inspiration behind my book was from January 2022, where I suffered a freak accident. I lost hearing (in my left ear) because of Covid, and I was only 14. I felt really isolated from friends, and I was even self-conscious and embarrassed because I didn’t want to be judged or seen as different. Eventually, I worked on accepting it, and when I did, I wrote my book, The Magical Arguing Cookies, so that I could teach kids that what they might think are flaws are really just traits that make them special and unique. It’s a book where I hope to celebrate differences.”
How can the community support your efforts?
“Helping to spread the word about my book and its moral will help all children learn this incredibly valuable lesson that I hope to teach.”
