Target Celebrates Black History Month With a New Collection
Just in time forĀ Black History Month, Target is rolling out theĀ Black Beyond MeasureĀ marketing campaign featuring partnerships with Black-owned businesses and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), which means you can celebrate and support them simply by buying kids’ clothes, toys, and more.
Black History Month Family Collection
The entire family can show off their pride with Target’s 8th Annual Black History Month collection featuring beautifully designed t-shirts for adults and kids.
Historical Names Collection
This simple design featuring the names of celebrated Black icons throughout history strikes a big impression. The t-shirt, which includes the names of activist Sojourner Truth, inventor Garrett Morgan, poet Phillis Wheatley, abolitionist Frederick Douglass, and sculptor Edmonia Lewis is available in adult and kids sizes, as well as an adorable, must-have onesie.
Jolie Noir Gender Inclusive Collection
Tweens and teens will love the Gender Inclusive Jolie Noir Black collection which includes t-shirts and sweatshirts.
HBCU Design Challenge
The Black Beyond Measure campaign also highlights artwork created by students from HBCUs, like the Black History Sharone Hands design created by Bowie State University student Sharone, one of the winner’s of this year’s challenge. The design along with other winners is featured on t-shirts and baby items, like this sweet romper.
Toys and More
The collection also features toys, board games, children’s books, and home items. One of our favorite picks is the Harperlman Plush Doll line, which includes dolls designed to help promote positive self-image in kids. The handmade dolls are available in a variety of four skin tone shades.
