About Valmonte Farm & Garden
Founded on the belief that everyone has a purpose, a need to contribute, and a desire for connection, Valmonte Farm & Garden began as a way to teach life and job skills to transitional students with special needs in the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District (PVPUSD).
Thanks to the vision and stewardship of founder Nancy Lemargie, and with the support of the community and PVPUSD, a once scrub grass lot was transformed into a 1.5 acre sanctuary. Today, it’s a thriving hub where children, families, neighbors, and students of all ages can gather to learn, grow, and enjoy nature together.
Valmonte Farm & Garden’s mission is dedicated to:
- Supporting young adults with special needs through hands-on life and job skills education
- Providing an inclusive outdoor classroom for students and teachers of VELA and PVPUSD
- Creating a space where the community can connect through nature, wellness, and learning

Volunteer & Support Opportunities
As a 100% donation-funded organization, Valmonte thrives through the generosity of the community. Volunteers can help with gardening, building projects, event support, and more. Donations, wish list items, and chicken adoptions all help sustain programs for years to come.
