Whether you’re looking for kids’ classes to train your future Olympian or you want to enjoy a fun family afternoon on the ice, we’ve got all the best options for ice skating near you.

Best Places to Ice Skate for L.A. Families

LA Kings Pickwick Ice Center

Easily one of the best ice-skating rinks, L.A. Kings Pickwick Ice Center offers skate lessons for all ages and levels through the Skate Academy program, as well as figure skating classes and ice hockey for kids and adults.

If you just want to enjoy some time on the ice, try the public skate sessions open to the general public daily. Admission is $20 ($16 when you register online), including skate rental.

L.A. Kings Valley Ice Center

Another excellent L.A. Kings ice arena, the L.A. Kings Valley Ice Center, is an L.A. institution with everything you need regardless of whether you want to play it casually or aim for Olympic ice-skating levels of perfection. 

The Center offers skating lessons for kids and adults, freestyle sessions, kids and adult hockey, and open skate public sessions. Admission for open sessions is $14 for adults and $13 for kids.,

Pasadena Ice Skating Center

As one of the quintessential skating rinks available all year round, Pasadena Ice Skating Center has long been a staple for families looking to have some exciting fun on the ice. 

In addition to figure skating lessons and hockey for kids and adults, the Pasadena Ice Skating Center offers several specialty classes, including synchronized skating team, figure power skating, edge class, on-ice ballet, choreography, and ice dancing. Public skate sessions are open daily for a $14 admission and $4 skate rental.

Simi Iceoplex

With two ice rinks, the Simi Iceoplex provides a plethora of services on ice for athletes and not-so-athletic folks seeking some fun and excitement. 

Class options include figure skating, hockey, curling, and more. Public skating sessions cost $17 per skater and include skate rentals. The rink also offers excellent private event and birthday party packages.

Toyota Sports Performance Center

The Toyota Sports Performance Center has it all, whether you’re looking for lessons or just some time on the ice. 

Public skate time is available daily, with no advanced reservations required. Admission is $12 for kids and $13 for adults, with a $6.50 skate rental fee. The Center also offers private and group ice skating lessons, hockey teams, and party packages, including broomball.

Skating Edge Ice Arena

Open since 1962, Skating Edge Ice Arena in South Bay is one of the oldest remaining ice skating rinks in Los Angeles. It continues to offer one of the best family skating experiences in the city.

The arena offers skating lessons for kids and adults, as well as ice dancing, and hockey. The Public sessions are only on certain days, so be sure to check the schedule in advance.
