A Disney adventure is full of excitement and magic. It’s filled with so many different adventures, for all ages and interests. Disneyland and Disney World are some of the most popular Disney destinations, but there are other ways to experience Disney magic! Whether you’re looking to have an amazing vacation or a romantic getaway, Disney has something for everyone. This blog post will explore some of the best options available for your next adventure – whether it be by land or by cruise!

Turn your trip to Disneyland into a staycation and stay at one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels. We did this last year and it was so much fun, you can read more here. They have the best pools, entertainment, and visiting characters. And if you are going to the parks with little ones, be sure to check out my post, Disneyland Resort & Disney’s California Adventure With Babies & Toddlers.

Taking the family to Walt Disney World is the ultimate family vacation. There are many different Disney themed hotels at all different price points to choose from. We just learned about the newest Disney Vacation Club resort, Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, featuring 184 rustically elegant vacation homes, including waterfront Cabins!
No need to rent a car or worry about parking. Walt Disney World has you covered with its own bus system! From the moment you land at the airport, Disney has a bus that will take you right to your hotel. And then from there, you can take their buses, monorails, boats, and sky rides to all of the theme parks and back to your hotel. Typically running every 20 minutes, although sometimes it can take a little longer during peak times. My son was so excited each time we got on a bus. That in itself was an adventure.
If you are looking for a more relaxing type vacation, then you might want to fly west to Disney Aulani Resort & Spa in Hawaii! This is one of my favorite places to go. This resort is all things Hawaii with just the perfect amount of Disney added. We’ve been a few times to the resort and love all the pools, great for all ages. We learned that Aulani just added to their resort a ku’i kala, also known as a luau. Can’t wait to go back and check it out. If you have kids 3 and over, they can check in to Aunty’s Beach House. They will have lots of Hawaiian adventures, while you get to have a little relaxing time in the adult only pool, beautiful spa, or just a walk on the beach. Rumor has it, Moana has returned to her home in Hawaii and can often be seen hanging out at Aulani. We’ve also spotted Stitch, Goofy and of course Mickey vacationing there as well.
Disney also has Adventures by Sea on the Disney Cruise Line. I have yet to go on one of these magical cruise ships. Those who have, say nothing but great things! If you take the cruise out of Florida, one of your destinations will most likely be Castaway Cay, Disney’s Private Island. Disney Cruise doesn’t just sail the Carribean, you can also find cruises to Mexico, up the west Coast to Alaska, and even in countries like Spain, Italy and Denmark. They also have themed cruises like the Halloween Cruise and starting this year, the Star Wars Cruise!
Lastly, there’s Adventures by Disney, which is an easy and hassle-free way to plan a guided vacation experience to destinations like the South African plains, the great cities of Europe, Costa Rica’s rich rainforest, the ruins of Pompeii, Machu Picchu, Australia’s Outback, the Great Wall of China and some of America’s most iconic destinations. Disney just announced that starting in 2019, they are adding a new itinerary to Japan. This 11-day, 10-night itinerary, will take travelers to Kyoto, Osaka, Takayama, Hakone and Tokyo. That sounds amazing! I’ve never been on an Adventures by Disney trip, but definitely on the list of things to-do with the kids!
