In this blog post, we’re going to list some of the best locally owned bakeries in the South Bay of Los Angeles. Bakeries in Redondo Beach

Sweet Wheat

French brothers who are bakers and business owners with a passion for fine bread. They made the decision to start an actual French artisan bakery. They returned with the best flour we could obtain from the French fields after traveling to Paris to master the craft at the École de Boulangerie et de Pâtisserie de Paris. Now, a genuine and delectable French bakery and bistro experience is available thanks to the launch of their very first Sweet Wheat Bakery location in Redondo Beach.

Krust Bakery & Cafe

They are really committed to providing high-quality meals that leaves you satisfied. They give things substance. For instance, they utilize actual eggs, peel onions, and caramelize them themselves while making quiches. They use Tahitian Grade A Vanilla Beans to manufacture the syrup for their vanilla lattes. They make their own simple syrup as well. Before creating gugelhulpf, they let the figs soak in the rum for many days. They remove the leaves from fresh rosemary before making fresh rosemary sourdough. There are countless examples, and they take great satisfaction in doing so!

Beckers Bakery and Deli

In the heart of Manhattan Beach, there is a family-run bakery called Beckers Bakery and Deli.

Harry Becker founded the company in 1942, and they still produce their famous cakes, cookies, cupcakes, and sandwiches in the original Manhattan Beach location. ​

Lido Bakery

Initially established in 2003, Lido Bakery. Since then, consumers from all over Southern California have flocked to the bakery for its mouthwatering cakes, cookies, and unique pastries. A wide variety of baked items are available, all of which are expertly made using the purest natural ingredients.

Bakeries in Torrance

Torrance Bakery

The Torrance Bakery’s doors were first opened to the public on October 18, 1984, by the Rossberg family. They set out to provide the residents of South Bay with the freshest, most delectable cakes and pastries in town, despite having just 1200 square feet of space and 7 committed staff members. The residents of South Bay took a particular like to the bakery since, over time, the bakery developed into a city favorite and continued to expand in order to provide its clients with the greatest goods and services. With 78 staff, two locations totaling 14,000 square feet, a separate showroom for wedding cakes, and a sandwich shop, Torrance Bakery now provides services throughout the South Bay.

King’s Hawaiian Bakery and Restaurant  

In 1950, creator Robert Taira of The King’s Hawaiian tradition launched his first bakery in Hilo, Hawaii. After experiencing years of success, Robert relocated his family’s business to Honolulu and established the first bakery-restaurant there, which quickly gained enormous popularity. Additionally, both locals and visitors were very interested in Robert’s distinctive Portuguese sweet bread. This was dubbed King’s Hawaiian Bread over time.

On both sides of the Vincent Thomas, you’ll find freshly baked sourdough bread and seasonally inspired french-ish pastries!

In addition to its original shop in San Pedro, California, Colossus also has outlets in the owner’s hometown of Long Beach, California (open bakery production space). They strive to make mindfully created bread and pastries utilizing herbs, fruit, and vegetables from our area, drawing inspiration from the seasons and regional agriculture. Out of the Long Beach location, our chef Jeff Paletz (also a native of Long Beach) has created a bread-centric cafe menu that emphasizes our fresh breads and also features vegetables from the farmer’s market in an open fast casual setting with a full view of the baking process.
