About Summer Concerts on the Pier
Summer Concerts on the Pier is a free community concert series held at the west end of the Redondo Beach Pier, at Fisherman’s Wharf. Each summer, the Redondo Pier Association brings in a rotating lineup of live acts covering everything from rock and reggae to blues, indie pop, and Irish folk.
Thursdays are dedicated to tribute bands under the “Tribute Thursdays” banner. Fans of classic artists will find plenty to love, with tributes to the Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, Weezer, Dave Matthews Band, Oasis, the B-52s, and Marvin Gaye all on the schedule. Saturdays feature a broader range of original and genre acts.
The vibe is relaxed and community driven. People show up with blankets and lawn chairs, grab food from the pier’s waterfront restaurants, and settle in for 2 hours of live music with the Santa Monica Bay as the backdrop. It’s the kind of summer evening that makes living in the South Bay feel pretty good.
All concerts are free and open to the public. Events are weather permitting and the schedule is subject to change or cancellation.

What to Expect at the Pier
Redondo Beach Pier is one of California’s largest municipal piers, stretching out along Santa Monica Bay with sweeping views of the coastline. The pier is home to a mix of waterfront restaurants, shops, and activities, so it’s easy to make a full evening out of it.
Concerts are held at the west end of the pier at Fisherman’s Wharf. Arrive a little early to find a good spot and explore before the music starts. The surrounding area is walkable from the Esplanade and the Strand, and several waterfront hotels are nearby for out-of-town visitors making a weekend of it.
The event is open to all ages and free to attend. There’s no formal seating, so bring a blanket or a low beach chair if you want to settle in. Food and drinks are available from pier restaurants and vendors in the area. Check out the full list of Redondo Pier dining selections here.
Redondo Beach Pier is located just a few minutes south of LAX, making it easy to reach from throughout the South Bay and greater Los Angeles.
Parking and Getting There
Parking is available in multi-level public parking structures right at the pier and boardwalk, with elevators, restrooms, and handicap accessible spaces.
Pier Public Parking Lots (north and south) are located at 100 to 500 Fisherman’s Wharf, Redondo Beach, CA 90277. The north lot entrance is on N. Harbor Drive and the south lot is at Pacific Avenue. Parking runs $2 per hour, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Additional parking options nearby:
Redondo Beach Marina Parking Lot, 181 N. Harbor Dr., Redondo Beach, CA 90277, also $2 per hour.
Metered street parking is available on Catalina Avenue and N. Harbor Drive.
Plan to arrive early on peak nights, especially the July 4th show with Ernando and the Nandos, when the pier tends to be busy with holiday crowds.
