This year, NAMIWalks welcomes Mayim Bialik and Risa Dorkin as NAMIWalks Ambassadors to help spread the word about mental health for everyone. Both women have worked independently to advance mental health discourse and have inspired fans all over the world to share their personal experiences. Mayim Bialik is presently starring in Call Me Kat and hosts Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown, a podcast that debunks common misconceptions about mental health and emotional well-being. Risa Dorkin, who presently stars in General Hospital, has used social media to track her personal mental health journey and inspire others to seek help.
The emcee will be Dani Nicolet. Danielle has established herself as a very varied and fascinating performer, beginning her career as “Caryn” on the Emmy-winning sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun. She currently appears on the CW’s The Flash. As the writer/producer of the film Black Karen, she is a 2021 Women Write Now fellow through LOL Studios and the Sundance Institute.
Brooke Johnson is a model, actress, and the 2018 Miss Alaska USA. Recently, she appeared in the new series Journey to America, How to Hack Birth Control, and the Apple TV show Roar. With the invention of her project Crowning Confidence, Brooke was able to acquire a platform to teach future generations about self-esteem, mental health awareness, and bullying while helping The Great State of Alaska.
