Rugrats Premiering on Paramount+ May 27th
Premiering on Paramount+ May 27th, Rugrats follows Tommy and his friends as they explore their world in a whole new way—from what it feels like to get your diaper changed to what makes adults so grown up. Rugrats has been entertaining kids for over 20 years and we can’t wait for this next chapter in our favorite toddlers lives!
Beginning May 27, the first set of episodes of the RUGRATS debut season will be available on Paramount+, with the rollout of additional episodes to be announced at a later date. In the one-hour premiere episode, “Second Time Around,” Tommy leads the babies on a daring adventure to help Chuckie after his big attempt to be brave goes horribly wrong. Warning: dinosaurs are involved. Following the season’s run on Paramount+, the series will air on Nickelodeon at a later date to be announced.
The original adventurous babies’ voice cast meets new voices for the animated series, including Ashley Rae Spillers and Tommy Dewey (Tommy Pickles′s parents, Didi and Stu); Tony Hale (Chuckie Finster’s father, Chas), Natalie Morales: Pair of Phil and Lil′s mother Betty DeVille; feat. Anna Chlumsky & Timothy Simons (Angelica’s parents, Charlotte and Drew); Nicole Byer with Omar Miller (Susie Carmichael’s parents, Lucy & Randy). And Michael McKean as Grandpa Lou.
Nickelodeon’s “Rugrats” series originally premiered in Aug. 1991 and immediately became a pop culture phenomenon. It ran for nine seasons over 13 years, winning four Daytime Emmy Awards, six Kids’ Choice Awards, and a Hollywood Walk of Fame star.
The all-new Rugrats, produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio, is based on the series created by Arlene Klasky, Gabor Csupo, and Paul Germain. The new show will be executive produced with Eryk Casemiro (Rugrats) Kate Boutilier (Rugrats), Dave Pressler (Robot and Monster), Casey Leonard (Breadwinners) as co-executive producers and Rachel Lipman (Rugrats). Charlie Adler serves as voice director for production overseen by Mollie Freilich, Senior Manager: Current Series Animation at Nickelodeon.
