South Bay Cities Participate in National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
Saturday, October 24th, many South Bay cities will participate in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. This is an opportunity to turn in an prescription drugs that you have at home and are no longer using.Ā Recycling your drugs helps to keep them out of the hands of people they weren’t intended for.

Take Back Day 2026
Unfortunately, unused prescription drugs often find their way into the wrong hands, which can lead to some dangerous, and often tragic, results. The problem is knowing how to correctly dispose of them. Take Back Day offers the local community an easy and safe way to clean out their medicine cabinets.
When Is Take Back Day 2026?
The national event takes place twice a year, in the spring and in the fall. This year’s next local event takes place on Saturday, October 24, 2026 10:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Take Back Day offers several drop-off locations across the South Bay, including:

What Items Are Accepted At Take Back Day?
Accepted items at the Take Back Day event include prescription and over-the-counter pills, tablets, capsules, patches, and sealed liquids, ointments, or creams.
