Why This Health Fair Matters for South Bay Families
The Health and Wellness Event helps Community’s Child gain valuable insights into the health needs of families throughout the South Bay. The information collected during the event allows the organization to adjust current programs, develop new services, and connect families with critical resources including health services, nutrition programs, and community support.
With the help of volunteers, the event creates a welcoming environment where families can access information, participate in activities, and learn about resources available to them locally.
About Community’s Child
Established in 2005, Community’s Child has served the Greater South Bay and surrounding communities for more than 20 years. The organization originally focused on a Transitional Living Program designed to help homeless women with children rebuild their lives through clean and sober living environments combined with education, life skills development, and vocational training.
In 2017, Community’s Child expanded its work by opening a Community Center in Torrance. Through this center, the organization launched outreach programs designed to support families throughout the South Bay.
During the COVID 19 pandemic in 2020, Community’s Child adapted quickly to meet growing community needs by evolving into a community food and infant pantry serving local residents, seniors, and schools throughout the region. Today, the organization continues to provide food support and outreach services for neighbors of all ages and backgrounds.
