Get ready to awaken your senses at the South Coast Botanic Garden with two all new exhibits this spring. Bamboozled offers guests an incredible new adventure to discover within the garden, while Soar will see the return of hundreds of tropical butterflies.

Introducing Bamboozled at South Coast Botanic Garden
Bamboozled is a brand-new exhibit featuring eight monumental bird sculptures made from bamboo, each illustrating a unique personality and story. Its is far more than just an art exhibit, however, it transforms the Garden’s 87 acres into a whimsical, interactive journey. You’ll follow the clatter of bamboo wind chimes as you search for each sculpture, all of which are tucked throughout the Garden’s stunning landscape waiting for you to discover.
You can unlock even more fun and adventure with the Secret Adventure Ticket that comes with an Adventure Kit, which includes an exclusive map, clues for further discovery and a secret tool that unlocks a themed activity focused around each sculpture.
Welcome Back Soar – Tropical Butterflies
Returning for the 5th year to South Coast Botanic Garden is Soar. This incredible exhibit features hundreds of tropical butterflies that you wouldn’t normally see in Southern California. Explore the Host and Nectar Garden where you can discover the beautiful plant species that are part of a butterfly’s habitat. Learn about how butterflies grow in the Emergence Chamber. Finally, visit the pavilion where you will have an up-close-and-personal experience with the hundreds of butterflies flying around you.
For a truly one-of-a-kind experience, check out the Butterfly Feeding Experience and you’ll have the opportunity to use a flower vial filled with nectar to entice butterflies to come close to you.
Visiting South Coast Botanic Garden
Bamboozled is going on now and Soar – Tropical Butterflies will open on May 9. Entrance to Bamboozled is free for members and up to $15 for the general public. Soar is a ticketed event that must be reserved in advance. Regular adult tickets are $23, kids ages 5-12 are $13, and ages 2-4 are $8. There is an additional $6 fee for the Butterfly Feeding Experience. Discounted tickets are available for members.
New for 2025 you can purchase the Ultimate Ticket and get access to all of the exhibits for one price. Bamboozled: An Unexpected Bamboo Adventure is included with General Admission, but with the Ultimate Ticket, you’ll receive the Secret Adventure Ticket—complete with an exclusive map, behind-the-scenes insights, clues and a special tool.
