BeachSports is a South Bay family owned and community driven small business operated by local parents and watermen. The programs focus on nurturing a deep love for the beach and ocean environment while building confidence in a safe, supportive setting.

The curriculum is built by educators to balance high energy games with necessary downtime in the shade. Programs are tailored to specific age groups, ensuring that a 4 year old and a 13 year old both receive age appropriate instruction. 

Summer 2026 Program Dates and Locations

Camps take place throughout the summer months across three primary South Bay cities. Families can choose sessions based on their preferred beach or specific sport interest.

• Locations: Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, and Hermosa Beach.
• Ages: 4 to 21, including participant and leadership roles.
• Availability: Weekly sessions beginning June 2026.

Diverse Camp Activities and Sport Tracks

Beach Program for Ages 4 to 10

The BEACH program helps young children discover the shoreline in Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, or Hermosa Beach. Kids learn about beach ecology and search for seashells while building comfort in shallow water. This program turns the ocean into a familiar backyard through boogie boarding and hands on play.

Ocean and Junior Lifeguard Skills

For kids aged 7 to 8, the OCEAN program focuses on ocean intelligence and safety. Participants learn to spot rip currents and develop the endurance to swim through surf. The goal is to build skills required to safely enjoy the water without the pressure of intense competition.

Surf Lessons and Technical Coaching

Surfers aged 7 to 13 work with experienced watermen to fine tune their skills. Every day begins with a Surf Check Ritual to analyze wave formation, tides, and currents. A 1:4 instructor ratio ensures personal guidance as kids learn to navigate the lineup and respect marine life.

Skateboard Camp at Hermosa Beach Skatepark

Skaters enjoy exclusive use of the Hermosa Beach Skatepark to master everything from basic pushing to advanced flip tricks. Coaches gear up and skate alongside participants, acting as mentors in motion. The program uses skill level stations to ensure every child progresses at their own pace.

Beach Volleyball for All Levels

The volleyball program serves both beginner and intermediate players with separate sessions. Beginners focus on fundamentals like passing and serving, while advanced groups move at a faster pace with competitive strategy.

Who Should Attend BeachSports Programs

BeachSports is designed for South Bay families looking for a developmental and inspiring experience. Programs cater to children ages 4 – 13 who are nervous about the water as well as those ready to catch big waves. The pathway extends to young adults through Coach In Training roles and leadership positions for those aged 16 to 21.
