Community Spotlight – Bionic Mommy
Getting back in shape after baby is no easy task. But with the help of Danielle Spangler at Bionic Mommy, she helps make it easier and fun! She can also help you get ready for baby, so you can have an easier delivery and bounce back even faster. We asked Danielle to tell us a little bit more about her and her business.
Tell us about your Bionic Mommy?
Bionic Mommy is a unique fitness program that caters specifically to pregnant women and new mothers. The objective of this company is to safely strengthen women’s bodies during pregnancy and after to improve the pregnancy and birthing experience and expedite recovery. Classes allow mothers to bring their babies and connect with other mothers so the classes help fill an emotional as well as physical need.
What inspired you to launch this Bionic Mommy?
As a mother myself and a fitness professional, I recognized there are very few programs or (none) like mine that offer the service that I offer.
What is one of your proudest moments?
My proudest moment(s) happen when clients see and feel results from following the Bionic Mommy exercise program. I love hearing “my birth was easier because of these classes” or “ I feel stronger as a result of taking your classes.”
What can one expect when working with you/visiting your location?
You can expect a very comfortable, supportive environment with amenities such as reusable water bottles and filtered water, nice fluffy workout towels and a clean boutique studio to enjoy with lots of different exercise toys. You can expect me to listen, care and help you feel comfortable exercising and of course, get stronger.
Tell us a little about you:
I am a South Bay resident for almost 20 years, moved here in 1998. I have three children in Redondo Beach schools and I have been deeply invested in the local community in various non-profit and philanthropic groups as well as the PTA.
What do you enjoy doing in the South Bay when you are not working?
I enjoy spending time with my family at the beach whenever possible. We ride bikes together on The Strand, I enjoy stand up paddle boarding and lounging in the sand. In the summer we enjoy all of the great community events like the concerts on the beach. I also love getting involved in the local 10K runs or the fairs like the Hermosa Fiesta or Home Town Fair.
How do you give back to the community?
I do give back to the community through Bionic Mommy. I donate classes and private training to various fund-raisers to raise money for schools. I have also donated and sponsored fundraisers for “Wags and Walks”, “Ready to Read” and “Maternal Health Now.”
