Blood Orange Margarita Recipe

It’s time for happy hour and we have a simple and delicious margarita recipe you are going to want to try!  We were recently introduced to Mongibello Juice, which comes all the way from Sicily.  We were excited to partner with them and were asked to create a recipe using their orange juice.  So of course, margarita came to mind.

You only need a few ingredients and a blender!

Mongibello Juice Blood Orange Margarita – 1 Margarita

  • Tequila (silver/blanco)  2 ounces
  • Mongibello Juice 2 ounces
  • Fresh lime juice – about 1 lime, juiced
  • Light agave nectar – 1 teaspoon
  • Pure vanilla extract (optional) – 1 tiny drop
  • Ice

Salt and brown sugar rim  (Optional)

  • Kosher sea salt and/or Himalayan salt
  • Brown sugar (optional)
  • Lime wedges

So yummy and refreshing!

Mongibello Juice is available at Bristol Farms and on mongibellojuice.com.  Mongibello is the name Sicilians use to refer to Mt Etna. A blend of Italian (Mongia) and Arabic (Gibello), it highlights the significance of Mt Etna to the local Sicilians.  Mongibello Sicilian blood orange juice is grown, then freshly squeezed, then frozen and packed right in Sicily. With a shelf life of 3 years frozen and 60 days from thawing, it’s always fresh.
