Galileo Learning is a STEAM and innovation education company headquartered in Oakland, CA, with a mission to develop innovators who envision and create a better world. The company operates direct-to-consumer summer camps and works with school districts and local organizations to provide expanded learning summer programs.
Founded in 2022 by Glen Tripp, Galileo is a Real Leaders’ Top Impact Company, a Bay Area Best Places to Work and one of Forbes’ Best Small Companies. In 2024, the company will operate over 65 summer camps across California, Washington, Colorado and Illinois. Our Manhattan Beach location will be at Robinson Elementary and operate June 17 through August 9, 2024.

Camp Galileo is all about teaching kids to be innovators! Our program enables campers to experience all the magic of summer camp while stealthily nurturing creativity, problem solving and collaboration skills that they need to thrive. Every imagination-sparking day, campers visit three engaging rotations—each with it’s own flavor and focus—providing campers with opportunities to hone their innovation skills in different ways.
Galileo balances all the fun of summer camp—silly traditions, songs, skits, dress-up days, a rubber chicken mascot—with incredible learning. Campers often come home talking about one of our innovator’s mindsets – how they were determined or visionary or learned from a marvelous mistake, and those are skills they can take back to school and keep using after summer is over.
What can one expect when attending Camp Galileo?
This is what a Day at Camp Galileo looks like!
For K-5th graders, every camp day has three parts: Innovator’s Studio: where campers build their own awesome projects to take home; Idea Lab: one where they collaborate with a partner on fun design challenges; Outdoor Adventure: where they head outside for active play.
6th-8th graders have three different week-long sessions to choose from. In each one, they focus on creating one epic project to take home, like a go-kart, a remote-controlled robot, or an escape room.
