Active in communities across the country, the Explorer Program is a rewarding volunteer program that allows youth to learn more about law enforcement while developing valuable leadership and life skills and giving service to the Police Department and the community. Young men and women will gain a better understanding of law enforcement functions and gain the academic and technical training needed to become future police officers.
FEATURED: RBEF Summer Sessions – Ages 11 – 13 (incoming 6th – 8th grade)
RBEF offers a wide range of 2-week enrichment classes for incoming 6th-8th grade students. Students can explore topics like Creative Writing for Podcasting, Introduction to Stock Trading, Public Speaking and Debate, Theatre Arts, and Compacted Math in workshops taught by RBUSD teachers. Peninsula Heritage Summer Fun N’ Games Camp – Ages 5- 15
This summer camp provides a safe, confidence-building space for children to learn and enhance their team-building and problem-solving skills through playing fun games throughout the Peninsula Heritage School campus. Valley Park Day Camp – Ages 6 – 13
Valley Park Day Camp is an all day, week-long program for kids ages 6 to 13 between the hours of 8:00am – 4:00pm at Hermosa Beach’s Valley Park, 2515 Valley Drive. Day campers participate in a variety of activities such as sports, drama, cooperative games, crafts, beach activities and off-site excursions to encourage social, physical and creative development. An enthusiastic leadership staff of experienced camp counselors supervises all activities. Counselor to camper ratio is 1:10.
Adventure Camp at AdventurePlex – Ages 4 – 12
You want the best for your kids, so give it to them with every school break! Peninsula Day Camp & Swim School – Ages 4 – 12
Day Camp is about the traditional day camp experience of making new friends and developing life skills through fun activities. The activities are simply the tools by which campers gain self-esteem, confidence, personal growth and respect for others. Amid the fun and excitement, campers learn fundamentals in a variety of activities, good sportsmanship, and the thrill of accomplishment. Camp activities included games, activities and sports. There is also an academic camp option that invites kids to explore different themes each week.
The Little Gym – Ages 3 – 12
Seasonal day camps at The Little Gym help your child combat the summer heat indoors with physical exercise, gymnastics, arts and crafts, and games. They offer two programs, one for young kids ages 3 to 8 and another for bigger kids ages 6 to 12, that focuses more on gymnastics skill building.

Breathe & Learn Kids Yoga Camp – Ages 5 – 11

LA Galaxy Youth Camps – Ages 6 – 16
LA Galaxy Youth Soccer Camps provide a platform for players ages 6-16 and all levels of ability to play soccer in a challenging and exciting environment. Their professional USSF Certified Youth Coaching Staff create a unique atmosphere for all players to receive the highest coaching instruction while enjoying being developed as a soccer player.
Summer Horsemanship Camp with Ocean View Riding School – Ages 6 – 17+
Explore the wonderful world of horses this summer! The goal of this summer camp is to help students become confident and independent riders and develop positive and responsible horsemanship skills. In addition to significant riding time, the activity and learning focus for all camps revolves around horse careers and each day will be focused on a different aspect of working with horses.
Palos Verdes Breakers Summer Camps – Ages K – 8th
Breakers basketball camp incorporates the learning of basketball fundamentals into fun skill-building drills and activities. After experiencing their camp your child will leave with more basketball skills and basketball IQ. The camp goal is to foster individual basketball skills, accomplish individual basketball goals, and instill the competitive desire to compete.
Aerial Gymnastics Club – Ages 5 – 12
AGC offers weekly gymnastics camps all summer long for kids ages 5 to 12. Each camp week has a colorful theme and offers fun activities like dress-up days, games, water play Kona ice, and more. There are both half-day and full-day choices.
Freedom Surf Camp – All ages
The main goals of Freedom Surf Camps are to introduce your children to the genuinely fantastic experience of surfing, help them adopt a healthy lifestyle, and prepare them for ocean safety. They provide a wide range of options and locations around Los Angeles, including beaches in Malibu, Manhattan Beach, and Venice/Santa Monica.
Champ Camp – Ages 4 – 12
From skateboarding to boogie boarding at Champ Camp kids can hit the beach or park depending on whether they prefer wheels or waves. No matter what, they are guaranteed a fun and exciting experience building skills and making friends.
Peter Weber Equestrian Center – Ages 3 – 12
Kids will learn the fundamentals of horsemanship as well as gaining knowledge about the care and maintenance of various ranch animals, such as alpacas, rabbits, goats, chickens, and pigs. They have several camp options based on age and they even offer a Mommy and Me camp.
Jack Kramer Club Tennis Camp – Ages 4 – 12
Summer tennis camp provides kids with the opportunity to build tennis skills at a variety of levels. Campers can also enjoy pool and play time at the end of the day. Membership is required to register for camp.
Sinjin Smith Beach Volleyball Camp – Ages 5 – 15
They are a non-profit beach volleyball program designed to instruct your children in volleyball principles and teamwork. To provide your child the most enjoyable and interesting experience possible, they collaborate with knowledgeable coaches and professionals. You can opt to register for Sand and Sea or Beach Volleyball, where your youngster can practice surfing and play a ton of entertaining activities.
Redondo Beach Youth Foundation Sailing Camp – Ages 8 – 18
From beginners to those with some experience on a boat, this camp offers an unparalleled experience helping kids develop string seamanship skills as well as gaining confidence. There are a variety of program options depending on age and skill level. All campers must pass a swim test on the first day.
Peninsula Sports Camps – Ages 5 – 14
Over 70,000 kids have attended basketball, soccer, and baseball programs offered by The Peninsula Sports Camps since its founding in 1972. The camp’s director, Tom Maier, is a well-known basketball coach in the South Bay with more than 700 victories and four CIF titles. He has a teaching certificate and a master’s degree in physical education with a focus in sports management from USC. Full and half day options are offered for all camp programs.
PV Surf Camp – Ages 4 – 14
P.V. Surf offers various programs depending on age and skill level. The range of programs begins with the participant who is not quite ready to start surfing (these participants will receive one-on-one support in the water at all times), up to the intermediate surfer who wants to improve on their skills.
Wavehuggers Surf Camp – Ages 5 – 17
Got a Little Mermaid who’s looking for some after-school adventure, or maybe an aspiring pirate who’s a little low on vitamin Sea? Wavehuggers is excited to offer young ocean lovers (ages 5 to 17 years old) with the opportunity to learn the basics of surfing in Huntington Beach.
Girl Scout Day Camp: Marine Landing – K – 8th grade
Located in Long Beach, Marine Landing offers unique programming focusing on paddle sports, marine science, and Girl Scout traditions. The calm waters of Alamitos Bay offer the perfect location for beginning paddlers to learn new skills and an expansive landscape for expert mariners to seek new challenges. Girl Scout Day Camp: El Ranchito K – 8th grade
Tucked away in the charming suburbs of Long Beach, El Ranchito is a tree-lined high adventure day camp, where girls are encouraged to take safe risks that boost bravery and promote goal setting. Exciting, confidence-building outdoor activities include archery, low ropes, and a 32-foot climbing tower.
West End Sports Camp – Ages 5 – 11
West End Sports Camp will provide your child with fun, friendship, and excitement while giving you peace of mind that your child will be spending their glorious summer days in a safe, nurturing and athletically based camp environment. Sports activities include tennis, racquetball, swimming, field games and more.
Paul Krumpe Soccer Academy – Ages 5 – 12
PKSA is back for Summer 2024 with five soccer camps! These will take place at Bert M. Lynn Middle School in Torrance. Campers will work on progressing their soccer skills while they develop new friendships and connections. The camp runs from June 17 to August 2, 2024.
Super Moverz – Ages 5 – 12
Camps allow kids to work in teams, build sports skills, and get fit while playing the most amazing adventure games ever created! Also, kids get plenty of time with the zip lines, rope swings, water games, and more.

Cooking Camps in the South Bay
From Scratch Bakers – Ages 8 – 12 (TBA)
Chef Arm’s From Scratch Bake Sessions promote baking techniques from basic to advanced. In addition to reviewing the basic history and science of baking, kids will practice proper kitchen safety included knife skills, preparation, and professional kitchen etiquette–all while having a blast whipping up delicious desserts.

Indivisible Arts Summer Camp – Ages 7 – 17
Indivisible Arts’ hybrid creativity and emotional intelligence camps blend excitement, fun, and freedom with wisdom and problem-solving tools to help kids meet life on life’s terms. Camp classes and offerings include photography, painting, resin, spray paint, mixed medium and more. Kids can also get creative with music, try yoga, and just have fun with water play.
Art Zone – Ages 3 and Up
Art Zone offers half day camps that are fun and exciting with new ideas and creative experimentation happening every day. Tinkering Camp – Ages 7 – 12
Tinkering Camp teaches children the skills they need to turn their wildest imaginings into robust items made from wood, plastic, metal, and fabric. Emily Moore Music – Ages 6 – 13
Kids will fall in love with music at their creative music camps for children in Elementary and Middle School. They offer camps for beginners (no prior experience needed!) and more advanced children who are already studying an instrument. Each week-long camp culminates in a class project and their max class size is 6 campers for a highly individualized experience.
Launch Dance Center – Ages 3 – 18 (TBA)
Launch Dance Center provides summer camps for all ages and levels! For younger dancers, they have half day options with exciting themes, such as Encanto, Wilderness Explorer, and more! They also offer a Summer Dance Sampler, perfect for any kids or tweens looking to try different styles of dance. For more experienced dancers, the Professional Development Intensive is a great way for them to refine and advance their technique.
McNulty School of Irish Dance Culture Camp – Ages 5 – 17

The Academy of Dramatic Arts Camp – Ages 3 – 14 (TBA)
Singing, dancing, acting games, dress-up days, arts & crafts, and themed obstacle courses are just some of the awesome activities your child will enjoy at this fun and creative musical theater experience. Camps culminate in a musical theater showcase based on the camp’s theme! Age groups: 3-5 yr, 6-10 yr, and 10-14 yr.
School of Dance and Music – Ages 2.5 – 6.5 (TBA)
Choose from 1-week Summer Camps designed to give kids a sampling of dance styles including Hip Hop and Jazz , as well as Cheer, Tumbling, and Yoga. Summer Dance Classes and Music Lessons are also available for kids of all ages.
Emerging Artists Musical Theater Camp for Kids – Ages 4 and up
Students will enjoy learning all about the stage. From performing skills to costume design: they will sing, dance, act, craft, and more. There is a mini-musical performance at the end of each camp week for family and friends.

This class includes practical classroom education on rules of the road, followed by drills in a safe space, then 45 minutes of road time where students transfer their skills. Small group learning – max of 5 students.
Best In Class Education Torrance – Ages 5 – 14
In-person 6-week summer camp is a great opportunity for K-8th graders to stay sharp, learn, and have fun in a non-screen live format 5 days/week. The academic camp (morning) will prepare students for the upcoming year with instruction in Next-level+ Math, Next-level English and Creative Writing. The enrichment camp (afternoon) will be full of creative pursuits like arts, drama, speech, and exercise. A Journey to Brazil Summer Camp – Ages 5 – 10
Join the ArteLuta Capoeira Academy in Lomita, CA for a dynamic and fun-filled exploration of Brazil, one of the most diverse and spectacularly beautiful countries in South America. The summer camp is a full day (9am-2pm) of fun and educational activities for ages 5-10 celebrating Brazil and the amazing flora and fauna of the Amazon Rainforest. Kids will play capoeira (martial art), soccer, learn maculelê drumming and dancing. There will also be arts and crafts, storytelling, slime creation, screenprinting, and animal mask making. We will spend ample time both indoors and outdoors. Kids will also make and eat their own pizzas at Rizzo’s on the last day of camp.

Camp Nugget – Ages 5 – 12
Camp Nugget at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), has served thousands of children with disabilities for over 50 years. The program offers children positive opportunities to enjoy and successfully participate in physical activity, games, sports and aquatic experiences that may be limited to them in other programs. The camp offers small camp to staff ratios and small group settings.
Camp Kesem at Long Beach State – Ages 6 – 18 (geared towards kids who have loved ones affected by cancer)
Camp Kesem serves children who have lost a parent to cancer, have a parent undergoing cancer treatment, or whose parent is a cancer survivor. Serving children ages 6 to 18, campers experience a warm and loving environment with other children who have similar life experiences. This community provides the foundation for confidence building, improved communication skills, enhanced life outlook and attitude.
