Community Spotlight: Gabriel’s Light Fundraiser

A local Redondo Beach family is collecting shoes for two very special organizations.  Gabriel’s Light, who’s mission is to prevent youth suicide through outreach, programs, and funding related to each of our three pillars: Education, Cyber Safety, and Kindness Campaigns. In addition, they maximize our efforts by partnering with a select few likeminded organizations and provide resources to parents, educators, and kids to inspire life-saving action.

Tell us about your Gabriel’s Light project:

“Two of my kids are collecting gently used or new shoes that will help 2 charities – first the shoes are donated to developing countries to start entrepreneurs and in return will receive funds that will be contributed to Gabriel’s Light to help prevent adolescent suicide and address cyber safety.”

Tell us a little about you:

“We relocated to the South Bay in 2010 and never plan on leaving! I’m a working mom with 3 kids – 1 Junior at Redondo Union High School and twins at Parras Middle School. I have a full time job in technology and on the side help people with safe retirement investments and insurance.”

What inspired you to do the Gabriel’s Light project?

All 3 of my kids are ambassadors for Gabriel’s Light, a non-profit friends started last year after losing their 12 year old to suicide.

How can the community support your efforts?

We need your gently used or new shoes by October 4, 2020
