Community Spotlight: S.C. Law

ByLocal Anchor October 22, 2020December 28, 2022
Community Spotlight: S.C. Law

When you or your loved one are injured there are so many challenges surrounding what can be a difficult situation, that you want a personal injury lawyer you know will take care of you and it’s even better your lawyer has knowledge of your home community. Our Local Business Spotlight features S.C. Law a personal injury law firm that’s not only a part of South Bay, but that also understands and has compassion for life’s unexpected experiences. We are excited to introduce you to Siannah, a local lawyer who can aide you, support you, and fight for you during crucial and tough times.

Community Spotlight: S.C. Law

Tell us about S.C. Law?

S.C. Law is a personal injury law firm located in Hermosa Beach. Our boutique practice focuses on representing victims of catastrophic injury in California and New York.

What inspired you to launch S.C. Law?

“Toward the end of a 9-year run as a Deputy District Attorney in Compton, our daughter Elyse Victoria was born prematurely and passed away after 17 days. We were blessed with the arrival of our second daughter, Desiree Elyse, the following year. We decided to find a job with more flexibility for my schedule, and after 4 successful years working with dear friends in personal injury, I decided to open my own firm. The butterfly in my logo is to honor Elyse.”

What is one of your proudest moments at S.C. Law?

“Graduating from college was one of my proudest moments. I am a first generation Panamanian American, and the first in my family to attend college. My parents delivered newspapers for a living and higher education wasn’t really something that was in the cards. I balanced full-time work while attending El Camino College and USC — it wasn’t easy, but the sacrifice was worth it.”

What can one expect when working with you?

“It’s not your traditional office. A huge Hulk statue greets you when you enter the lobby. Having the beach directly across the street doesn’t hurt either…but don’t let our laidback, California demeanor fool you. We mean business.”

Tell us a little about you:

“I was born and raised in San Pedro until age 12, and then moved to Panama for junior high and high school. I came back and attended El Camino College and USC, and after law school, moved to Redondo Beach, where I’ve spent the past 10 years. My husband is from Carson and graduated from Bishop Montgomery High School. Our daughter went to American Martyrs Preschool last year.”

What do you enjoy doing in the South Bay when you are not working?

“You can find our family frequenting the parks and beaches of the beautiful South Bay. We also enjoy eating at all the diverse locations in our community.”

How do you give back to the community?

“Giving back has always been something I believe in. I attribute that to my humble roots, there were times we had to rely on help from our own community to get by. I’ve donated money and time to the Trial Lawyers Charities, mentored students in Project Lead in Compton, donated food to Warrior Pantry and continue to help any way I can.”

Anything else you’d like to share?

“Well, I believe the majority of us have young children but as we all know time flies and they will be graduating from high school in no time, as such I urge to do your research for the Community College elections in your area.  I attended El Camino College 20 years ago and it was there where I found my voice as an advocate for others and was lucky enough to be mentored to transfer to USC and pursue a career in law. My niche was, and still is, serving the community. From my lengthy stand as a Deputy District Attorney in Los Angeles to representing victims of catastrophic injury, I always found fulfillment in helping others. My time spent at El Camino College afforded me the foundation and confidence to follow my dreams. I am running in this race to champion those who stand where I have – at the doorsteps of higher education. If you’re in my district (North Redondo, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach and El Segundo) please consider voting for me.”  More info at:
