What Is Cruzin’ the Lagoon?
Cruzin’ the Lagoon is a weekly, informal car gathering hosted at the Redondo Beach Marina. It’s open to all makes and models, from classic American muscle to European sports cars, vintage trucks, custom builds, and everything in between.
The vibe is intentionally relaxed. There are no judged competitions or formal awards. The focus is on the cars, the conversation, and the community that shows up week after week to keep the tradition going.
The event is organized by Franks Cars in the Hood, a South Bay car culture staple that has been bringing enthusiasts together for years. For a full list of their events and updates, visit frankscarsinthehood.com.

Why the Redondo Beach Marina Is the Perfect Backdrop
There are plenty of car shows across Southern California, but few happen in a setting quite like the Redondo Beach Marina. With waterfront views, nearby restaurants and shops, and the easy energy of the beach, this location turns a car show into a full afternoon outing.
Whether you grab a bite at one of the marina’s restaurants before or after the show, take a walk along the water, or just settle in and admire the lineup for a few hours, the setting makes Cruzin’ the Lagoon feel like more than just a car event. It’s a reason to get out, connect, and enjoy everything the South Bay does so well.
Who Shows Up to Cruzin’ the Lagoon?
This event draws a wide and welcoming crowd. Long-time car collectors pull up alongside first-timers who just wanted to see what the buzz was about. Regulars who have been coming for years will happily swap stories with newcomers who wandered over from the marina.
All makes and models are welcome, and the relaxed format means there is no gatekeeping. If you love cars or just appreciate seeing them up close, you belong here.
A Weekly Summer Tradition Worth Marking on Your Calendar
Cruzin’ the Lagoon runs for nearly 4 months straight, from late May through early September. That means 17 consecutive Fridays of waterfront car culture in Redondo Beach.
For many South Bay residents, it has become a summer anchor, a weekly ritual that marks the rhythm of the season. If you go once, there’s a good chance you’ll be back the following Friday.
Plan Your Visit
Getting there is easy. The Redondo Beach Marina is centrally located in the South Bay and accessible from Torrance, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, and the surrounding area.
Arrive early if you’re bringing a car, as prime spots fill up. Spectators are welcome throughout the event, so feel free to arrive at any point between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM. There is no admission fee to attend.
