It’s time for the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival

Bylara scott March 13, 2018September 29, 2021

Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival
Not that I EVER need an excuse to go to the Disneyland Resort, but if YOU happen to be looking for one….here it is: The Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival, which is on now through April 12th.

This post is sponsored.  We were given tickets to attend the The Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival

I was at California Adventure recently to work the “Get More Happy” radio broadcast event.  I am happy to say that when I wasn’t talking on the radio, I was sampling all the delicious food that the Food & Wine Festival has to offer.   There are “flavors and fare inspired by the Golden State” and more than a dozen Festival Marketplaces.   So many tasty dishes including a lot of Vegetarian (V) and Gluten-Free (GF) options to try and fun things to do for all ages.

At the Festival Marketplace, you’ll find California-inspired small plates with fresh ingredients that are grown in California, like strawberries, citrus fruits, peppers, avocado, and artisanal cheese. There are also locally brewed craft beers and wines from all over Cali.

The Backlot Stage in Hollywood Land is hosting family-friendly seminars covering a variety of topics, cooking demonstrations, and more. And if the kids are with you, don’t miss the Junior Chef Experience, which is led by Goofy, for children ages 3-11. It was so cute to watch all the young chefs follow a recipe and mix a variety of ingredients to create a magical treat, and it ended with a tasty surprise. Yum!

Celebrity Chef LIVE! At the Hyperion, featuring Robert Irvine on March 30th, adds some star power, and there are also unique events like the Disney Family of Wines Dinner, Sweet Sundays and Winemaker or Brewmaster Dinners.

Chef Caine, one of the Disneyland Resort chefs, joined us during our broadcast to talk about some of his favorite dishes, which I have listed below. I have also included the name of the Festival Marketplace where you can find each item:

  • Compressed Asian Cucumbers with Green-Green Sauce, Toasted Almonds, and Sea Beans (Eat Your Greens)
  • Watsonville Strawberry Pie…the Strawberry Patch area also features Frushi, which is made with berries and coconut rice and wasabi sauce and looks like a little rice roll. (Strawberry Patch)
  • Verlasso (TM after Verlasso) Sustainable Salmon Peruvian Poke (Peppers Cali-Ente)
  • Creamy Mac & Cheese with Garlic Bread Crumble (Garlic Kissed)
  • Avocado & Pepper Jack Petite Guacamole Burger (Avocado Time)
  • Large Soft Pretzel with Beer-Mustard Dipping Sauce (Paradise Garden Grill)
  • One of Chef Caine’s favorites is the Shrimp Boil Tacos with Andouille Sausage and Fresh Corn. (Off the Cob, which is also the home of Popcorn Lemonade.)
  • Meyer Lemon Macaron – the largest and BEST-TASTING macaron I have ever had. (Citrus Grove)
  • For vegetarians like me: Spice Oumph!® on a pita with Avocado Hummus and Garlic Sauce. Oumph! Is a soy-based meat alternative, and I thought it was delicious! (Avocado Time)

And how do you follow up all of this deliciousness? With the first-ever Pixar Fest, which begins April 13th throughout the Disneyland Resort!

Disclaimer: Many of the Disney California Food and Wine Festival events are included with admission to Disney California Adventure Park. Special signature events and seminars will require a separate fee. Additional details and reservations for the signature events and seminars can be made at Disneyland.com/FoodAndWine.
