Celebrate Dogtoberfest 2026 at South Coast Botanic Garden
Back my pup-ular demand, Dogtoberfest returns to South Coast Botanic Garden for the third year. Inspired by the beloved Bavarian tradition of Oktoberfest, this festive celebration brings together dogs and their humans every Saturday and Sunday in October with live music, beer, competitions, and plenty of tail-wagging garden fun.Ā Ā
Whether youāre coming for the brats, the brews, or the barks, Dogtoberfest is the perfect way to celebrate fall!

What to Expect at Dogtoberfest
Dogs (and their humans), are invited to enjoy a fall day outdoors with beer tastings, music, and unique activities spread throughout the Garden. This yearās event features exciting new additions and enhanced favorites including a larger band with dancers, more Oktoberfest-inspired competitions, an expanded VIP Beer Tasting experience along the Pup Crawl and a VIP Dog ticket.Ā
Live Music: Die Sauerkrauts will perform lively German tunes every day of the event (30-minute sets at 10 and 11am, 1, 2 and 3pm).
Food & Treats: Head to Dottieās at the Koi Pond for a Bavarian-inspired menu featuring bratwurst, warm pretzels, and other German-style favoritesā perfectly paired with your choice of beer.
Oktoberfest-Inspired Games: Test your skills in a variety of fun events like the stein-holding competition, pretzel toss, and yodeling (dogs can join in on this one!). (10:30 and 11:30am, 1:30 and 2:30 pm).Ā
Photo opportunities: Snap pictures at festive backdrops or with Terri the Squirrel, the Gardenās lederhosen-wearing furry mascot!Ā
Tail-Wagging Entertainment:Ā Each weekend of the event will feature Dog Races for dogs weighing 30 pounds or less. You can register your dog in advance here. The event will also feature a Pup Crawl, which will lead guests to various dog activities along a short walk in the front half of the Garden.Ā
