Hadestown: Teen Edition is a full-length adaptation of the acclaimed musical by singer-songwriter Anais Mitchell. Winner of eight Tony Awards, this intriguing and beautiful folk musical delivers a deeply resonant and defiantly hopeful theatrical experience. Hadestown follows two intertwining mythic love stories – that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of immortal King Hades and Lady Persephone. Inspired by traditions of classic American folk music and vintage New Orleans jazz, Mitchell’s beguiling musical pits industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love. Hadestown will invite audiences on an unforgettable journey to the underworld and back, challenging us to think about how the world could be.
Redondo Union High School is performing 3 more shows of Hadestown: Friday 3/28 7pm, Saturday 3/29 2pm and 7pm. Tickets range from $10-20 depending on seat selection – it is assigned seating. Recommended for ages 8+ (nothing inappropriate, just a deep story to follow). There is a live orchestra with great jazzy music. Come support an incredibly talented cast of students! The show is really professionally done!
