Rancho Palos Verdes Winter Festival

Winter magic continues at the Ken Dyda Civic Center with the City of Rancho Palos Verdes Winter Festival on Saturday, December 5, 2026. The free afternoon and evening celebration follows the city’s Tree Lighting Ceremony and is a favorite holiday tradition for Palos Verdes Peninsula families.

The Recreation and Parks Department hosts guided night hikes in the Alta Vicente Reserve, where hikers can listen for hooting owls and chirping insects under a starlit sky. Afterward, everyone gathers around bonfire pits for coffee, cocoa and s’mores while carolers perform. Kids can play in real snow and sled down a slide made of ice and snow.

Good to know: Admission is free. Activities are provided by the City of Rancho Palos Verdes and its sponsors.
