Tree Lighting Ceremony – Ken Dyda Civic Center

The City of Rancho Palos Verdes kicks off the holiday season with its annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Ken Dyda Civic Center on Friday, December 4, 2026. A winter storm is “gathering” over the Civic Center, bringing real snow for an evening of snow play and sledding, so don’t forget gloves.

Kids and adults can warm up with freshly brewed cocoa and coffee, enjoy festive holiday music and craft stations, shop the Holiday Pop-Up shop, and watch the lighting of the community’s large decorated tree and Menorah. It is one of the most popular free family events on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

Good to know: Admission is free. The celebration continues the next day with the Winter Festival at the Civic Center.
