Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk
Every October, hundreds of people participate in the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk, a beach party where families and friends get together to walk from Manhattan Beach Pier to Hermosa Beach Pier and back in support of our kids. More than $13 million has been raised through the event since 2009 to benefit the Friendship Foundation and public education.
Through one-on-one peer mentorship, social leisure activities including summer camps, trips, athletic events, and a range of workshops that include music, yoga, cooking, painting, and theater, the Friendship Foundation helps children with special needs and their families.
Public education foundations use donations to continue essential academic programs, keep reduced class sizes, enhance libraries, and improve technology in schools. The Skechers Foundation’s yearly scholarship program, which will provide $100,000 to outstanding students nationwide in 2020, is funded in part by the Walk.
The Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk is co-produced by the Skechers Foundation and the Friendship Foundation and is made possible by presenting sponsor Kinecta Federal Credit Union, media sponsor NBC4 Southern California, dozens of committed businesses, and enthusiastic locals.
