Whale of a Day
The City of Rancho Palos Verdes and Los Serenos de Point Vicente invite you to the 38th annual Whale of a Day Celebration on April 15 at the Point Vicente Interpretive Center!
Join us from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for this free, community favorite event celebrating the migration of the Pacific gray whale from its summer feeding grounds in the Bering and Chukchi Seas in Alaska, to the winter breeding and calving grounds in Baja California.
The day will feature whale watching, children’s games and crafts, tours of the Point Vicente Interpretive Center museum, live entertainment and an array of marine-themed vendors and organizations, plus food trucks, a beer and wine garden, a silent auction and raffle, and the return of U.S. Coast Guard tours of the Point Vicente Lighthouse.
Performances will include sea shanties by Jordan Bush, tribute band PT and the Cruisers, and bluegrass group Smoky Hollow.
There will be no on-site parking for Whale of a Day. Parking and a shuttle service will be provided for free at Rancho Palos Verdes City Hall at 30940 Hawthorne Boulevard.
