Fire Service Day 2025: South Bay Fire Station Open Houses to Visit
What kid doesn’t love to see a big shiny red fire truck?! Well here’s your chance to come hang with your local firefighters, see the trucks up close, get a tour of the station and lots of other fun activities during Fire Service Day! To increase community awareness of Fire Department services, the Los Angeles Fire Department designates the second Saturday of each May as Fire Service Recognition Day.

South Bay Fire Stations Participating in Fire Service Day
Saturday, May 10, 2025, marks Fire Service Day, a community-wide opportunity to recognize and celebrate the brave men and women of our local fire departments. Across the South Bay of Los Angeles, several stations will open their doors to the public with family-friendly activities, station tours, equipment demonstrations, and more.
Hereās a roundup of confirmed open house events happening in the South Bay:
El Segundo Fire Department
The El Segundo Fire Department is hosting an Open House and Super CPR Saturday at Fire Station 1, located at 314 Main Street, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Visitors can tour the station, view equipment demonstrations, and take part in CPR training (walk-ins welcome if space is available).
Redondo Beach Fire Department
Redondo Beach will host its Fire Service Day Open House from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at two locations: Fire Station 1 at 401 S. Broadway and Fire Station 2 at 2400 Grant Avenue. The community is invited to explore fire engines, meet firefighters, and enjoy interactive displays.
Torrance Fire Department
All six Torrance fire stations will open their doors from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM for their citywide Fire Service Day celebration. Each location will feature fun activities and hands-on learning experiences for kids and adults alike.

Los Angeles Fire Department ā San Pedro (Fire Station 112)
LAFD will host a Fire Service Day open house at Fire Station 112 in San Pedro, located along the waterfront. Activities will take place from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and include demonstrations, fire safety information, and opportunities to meet local first responders.
Other Cities
Cities such as Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, Lomita, and Hawthorne are primarily served by the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD). While those stations are not confirmed to host events on May 10, LACoFD held a countywide open house on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
