Fire Service Day 2026: South Bay Fire Station Open Houses to Visit
What kid doesn’t love to see a big shiny red fire truck?! Well here’s your chance to come hang with your local firefighters, see the trucks up close, get a tour of the station and lots of other fun activities during Fire Service Day! To increase community awareness of Fire Department services, the Los Angeles Fire Department designates the second Saturday of each May as Fire Service Recognition Day.

South Bay Fire Stations Participating in Fire Service Day
Saturday, May 9, 2026, marks Fire Service Day, a community-wide opportunity to recognize and celebrate the brave men and women of our local fire departments. Across the South Bay of Los Angeles, several stations will open their doors to the public with family-friendly activities, station tours, equipment demonstrations, and more. While May 9th is the official date for 2026, some firehouses will be hosting their events on different dates.
Here’s a roundup of confirmed open house events happening in the South Bay:
Redondo Beach Fire Department
Date: May 9, 2026
Redondo Beach will host its Fire Service Day Open House from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at two locations: Fire Station 1 at 401 S. Broadway and Fire Station 2 at 2400 Grant Avenue. The community is invited to explore fire engines, meet firefighters, and enjoy interactive displays.
Rolling Hills Estates Fire Department
Date: May 2 and 9, 2026
Rolling Hills Estates will host two Fire Service event at Fire Station 106, 27413 Indian Peak Rd. First on Saturday, May 2 from 10am to 5pm and again on May 9 from 10am to 1pm.
Torrance Fire Department
Date: May 9, 2026
All six Torrance fire stations will open their doors from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM for their citywide Fire Service Day celebration. Each location will feature fun activities and hands-on learning experiences for kids and adults alike.

Station 2: 25135 Robinson Way
Station 3: 3535 W. 182nd St.
Station 4: 52025 Calle Mayor
Station 5: 3940 Del Amo Blvd.
Station 6: 21401 Del Amo Circle W.
Los Angeles Fire Department – San Pedro (Fire Station 112)
Date: May 9, 2026
LAFD will host a Fire Service Day open house at Fire Station 112 in San Pedro, located along the waterfront. Activities will take place from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and include demonstrations, fire safety information, and opportunities to meet local first responders.
Other Cities
Cities such as Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Lomita, and Hawthorne are primarily served by the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD). While those stations are not confirmed to host events all LAFD neighborhood fire stations welcome your visit between 10 AM and 4 PM on Saturday, May 9, 2026. (*NOTE: Because Fire Stations 51, 80 and 114 are located on secure airport grounds, they regretfully cannot be open to the public.)

El Segundo Fire Department
Date: May 16, 2026
The El Segundo Fire Department is hosting an Open House and Super CPR Saturday at Fire Station 1, located at 314 Main Street, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Visitors can tour the station, view equipment demonstrations, and take part in CPR training (walk-ins welcome if space is available).
