Local Anchor Valentine’s Day Kindness Project

Looking for a fun and creative way to give back with the family? Make some Valentine’s Day cards with Local Anchor! Join our Valentine’s Day Kindness Project by donating Valentine’s Day Cards to donate to patients in local hospitals. Make cards at home and drop them off at one of our collection locations in the South Bay.

Whale Fiesta
Feb. 1
Join in the fun celebrating the migration of the Pacific gray whale and the beginning of the whale watching season! Enjoy a family day filled with activities and exhibits, including games, arts and crafts, puppet shows, expert guest lecturers and festive music. You won’t want to miss the life-sized inflatable whales and the famous Duct Tape Whale Contest.

Redondo Beach Super Bowl Sunday Race
Feb. 8
Grab your sneakers and get ready to move at the 48th Annual Redondo Beach Super Bowl Sunday Race. The whole family can participate in the action with a 10K, 5K, Baby Buggy 10K, 5K Stroller Walk, and Kids 1K Fun Run! Organized and founded by the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce, you can’t beat this fun family event for outdoor fitness with a spectacular ocean view.
Lunar New Year Celebration at South Coast Botanic Garden
Saturdays and Sundays, February 2026
The South Coast Botanic Garden celebrates the Lunar New Year every weekend throughout the month of February with new expanded hours and additional performance times. The festivities include crafting dragon puppets, making paper lanterns, calligraphy, and games. Each weekend also features live performances of lion and dragon dances, as well as martial arts demonstrations, and more. The event is free with garden admission, there is an additional fee for performances.
Valentine’s Night Dive at Aquarium of the Pacific
Feb. 13
Grab your special someone or your best pals for a Valentine’s celebration you won’t forget! Enjoy a cocktail from a cash bar, snap pics in the photo booth, and groove to the tunes of live music at Blue Cavern! Café Scuba will be open serving delightful Valentine’s Day specials. Come celebrate love at Night Dive at Aquarium of the Pacific. This event is for adults (18+ only).

The Annual African-American Festival is back for another year of exciting festivities. Family-friendly activities include live music, dance performances, storytelling, historical displays, and the Aquarium’s Heritage Award ceremony. Festival admission is included in your Aquarium ticket.
Lunar New Year Celebration at The Point
Feb. 22
Head to The Point to celebrate the Year of the Horse with a festive Lunar New Year event. Enjoy a lively Lion Dance performance, traditional drum beats, lantern decorating, and more. Experience the joy and traditions of the Lunar New Year in a vibrant community setting.
