Carlsbad Flower Fields are In Bloom
The Flowers Fields are situated on 50 acres in Carlsbad, San Diego, California. For over 60 years, Mother Nature has transformed the rolling hills of North San Diego County into one of the world’s most spectacular and well-orchestrated displays of natural color and beauty. The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch in Carlsbad, California feature Giant Tecolote Ranunculus blooms that bloom for roughly six to eight weeks each year, from early March through early May.
When is the best time to visit the Carlsbad Flower Fields?
Carlsbad Ranch Flower Fields are open now through May 12, 2024, 9 am ā 6 pm daily.
The best time to avoid a crowd is on weekdays. The Flower Fields are definitely the busiest on Fridays – Sundays. If you need to visit on peak days, we recommend arriving before noon to escape the crowds.
In late March and April, guests of The Flower Fields are invited to pick fresh blueberries from the fieldās small blueberry patch to take home and enjoy. Check their website in advance to find out if u-pick will be available on the date of your visit.

What can you do at the Carlsbad Flower Fields?
There’s so much to do at the Carlsbad Flower Fields. You can enjoy a self-guided walking tour of the fields, take photos, and buy flowers and souvenirs. Kids will enjoy exploring the Sweet Pea Maze and Santa’s Playground. Flower enthusiasts won’t want to miss the Orchid Greenhouse. There is also a picnic area where you can relax and enjoy your lunch. The Tractor Ride Wagon
The Tractor Ride Wagon is a great way to tour the ranch. The wagon takes you around the fields, and provides information about the flowers along the way.
Strawberry Shack of Carlsbad
Sweet delights made with fresh, locally harvested, sun-kissed strawberries. Strawberry shakes, strawberry shortcake sundaes, chocolate-dipped strawberries, strawberry sundaes, and premium-quality soft-serve ice cream are just a few of the delectable options. Dole Whip (gluten-free and dairy-free) is also available.
Butterfly Garden
It’s all about the butterflies at Coto de Caza Garden, where you’ll find a haven of peace and tranquility. Stroll through the remodeled garden, which features an area dedicated to these beautiful insects that help plants blossom. Snap some family photos while sitting on the colorful butterfly seats, surrounded by brilliant flower beds.
Illusion Garden
The newest attraction is the Carlsbad Flower Fields’ Illusion Garden. This whimsical garden is a colorful and fun place for both kids and adults to explore! With its bright colors, interesting shapes, and hidden messages, the Illusion Garden is sure to delight everyone who visits it.
How much does it cost to visit the Carlsbad Flower Fields?
Tickets are $23 per adult to visit the Carlsbad Flower Fields. Kids ages 3-10 cost $14, seniors age 65+ cost $21, and military members with ID cost $21. No ticketing is available onsite and admission must be purchased in advance online.
The Wagon Tour is an additional $8 for adults and $4 for children (ages 3-10), children under 3 are free. Tickets can be purchased after you arrive.
