We believe children learn at their own pace and they learn through play and nature as well. They will get DIRTY lol. We also offer group activities and enrichment programs everyday like cooking, gardening, art, music, yoga and soccer.”
What inspired you to open The Little Ivy Preschool?
“I was a preschool teacher for 5 years and then opened up my own preschool for another 2 1/2 years. I loved and enjoyed my job however I had an opportunity to go into cooperate sales and I wanted to gain the experiences in a large cooperation. I became a mom in 2016 and stayed home for my son until I opened my new preschool, Little Ivy Preschool. I was touring preschools for my son and the ones I loved, had extremely long waitlists. So I made the decision to open up my own school again. We started to work on buying a home and renovating the property the way I think will benefit the children the most. I was always a loving and warming teacher for the children. Now that I am a mom, I truly understand how to love a child with all my heart and the definition of unconditional love. I want to help other working families to love, care and guide their little ones when they are away.
What is one of your proudest moments?
“When the little ones smile and laugh and when the parents trust and appreciate our work.”
What can one expect when visiting The Little Ivy Preschool?
“Our program is designed for 2 years to 5 years old. As new explorers, we have created areas for them to create and indulge their curiosities. All children will be guided and observed by dedicated teachers who will introduce them to our Reggio Emilia inspired curriculum. We treat everyone with respect.”
Tell us a little about you…
“I came here for college back in 2009, my major was early childhood education. I was offered a preschool teacher position at Saint John’s Health Center-Children and Family Department at my freshman year. I worked there for about five years, practiced my English, formed my work ethics and learned American culture. Then, I graduated from my college and decided to open up my own preschool for over two years till my lease was up. My landlord decided to sell the property. I realized it will be ideal to own a property in order to build the school I truly want. So we got a house in Westchester in March 2018 and opened the preschool on July 2nd. We are a family of three with a 19 months old boy, I truly understand how it takes to raise a baby and how a mom really feels to love their babies unconditionally, I want to help families in the community to love, care and guide their little ones when they have to work and make a living. I want to take care and love all the children at my preschool the way I raise my son.
What do you enjoy doing in the South Bay when you are not working?
“Love the beach, my favorite is Manhattan Beach. I love trying new restaurants as well.”
How do you give back to the community?
“We make donations to the childrenās hospital of Los Angeles every year since 2010.”
