A special author event with Lara Scott

Lara Scott, a well-known Los Angeles radio host, comes to {pages}: a bookstore in downtown Manhattan Beach to celebrate her first novel, Main Street and Mistletoe, which she co-wrote with Cori Linder. The evening opens with time to mix and mingle, followed by a conversation between Scott and her good friend Laura Stotland, founder of Local Anchor. The two will talk about the story behind the book, what it was like to write a novel after two decades behind the microphone, and why Los Angeles is at the heart of it.

Written as a love letter to Los Angeles after the 2025 wildfires, the holiday story follows a single mom on a search across the city that becomes a story about second chances. It’s a cozy start to the holiday season and one of the more festive things to do in Manhattan Beach this November.

Schedule: Mix and mingle from 5:30 to 6:00 pm, with Laura Stotland’s interview with the author beginning at 6:00 pm. Guests can expect a relaxed, friendly chat between two longtime friends.

About the book: Main Street and Mistletoe is one long-lost letter, one wild day downtown, and one chance to change everything. Single mom Chloe nearly says hello to a stranger in a tinsel-covered Santa hat at a Christmas in July event. Months later, a letter from her late husband sends her to a holiday event in downtown Los Angeles, and a search through the city’s best-known spots begins. The book is full of warmth, humor, and holiday charm.

About the author: Lara Scott has been an on-air radio host in Los Angeles since 2000 and is a familiar voice across Southern California. Main Street and Mistletoe is her first novel with Cori Linder. When she isn’t on the air or writing, she can usually be found drinking coffee and exploring LA with her family.
