Day of Kites and Rockets

Families are invited to a colorful day by the water at the Day of Kites and Rockets, a vibrant community event celebrating Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Children’s Day, and Hwarang Youth Day. Hosted by the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks in partnership with the Friendship Bell Foundation, this free event is open to the public and filled with fun for all ages.

Guests can enjoy a sky full of kites, interactive activities, and a lively atmosphere at the beautiful Friendship Bell Pavilion. A special bell ringing ceremony will take place at 12 PM, adding a meaningful cultural moment to the day’s festivities.
